    Well, men.

    As I understood, this Typhoon RB286 was never marked with any Belgian insignia, isn’t it ?

    …Flyer, unfortunately, I don’t have pics of those planes. It’s not easy to find photos of Costa Rican planes. Maybe you can post a message at the forum of the Latin American Aviation Historical Society…

    Well, Santiago, I understood You. Thanks for the answer.

    Costa Rican aircraft

    Dear sir Santiagorivas !

    Thank You for good Costa Rican images !

    Maybe, You also have some images of the following Costa Rican aircraft:

    – Avro Anson;
    – Beech 18/C-45F Expeditor;
    – Cessna UC-78 Bobcat;
    – Noorduyn C-64 Norseman;
    – North American T-6 Texan;
    – Republic P-47 Thunderbolt;
    – Douglas C-47 Skytrain (military only);
    – North American B-25 Mitchell, registered as TI-1026C (and other Mitchells – if those existed in Costa Rica);
    – Douglas A-26 Invader, registered as TI-1040L/TI-1040P (and other Invaders – if those existed in Costa Rica).

    …I think, although, that some aircrafts in this list are mentioned mistakenly – for example, P-47 fighters were never sold in Costa Rica (but, maybe – suddenly – this fact was in reality ???).

    Let’s hope for the best…

    Regards,
    Flyer.

    I have a picture of E311 taken in Canada by my father.
    On the back of the pic he has written
    Gloster Meteor June 27 1945
    It is in camoflage , with a white band around the tail just forward of the v-stab
    E311 is painted on the tail directly under the v-stab

    What national insignia (and of what style) have Meteor on Your photo ?

    It appears that the port outer wing has been removed.
    Hard to tell for sure but if you look closely it sure looks like it

    I think, the aircraft had both outer wings removed for the next reasons:

    Reason 1 (in my opinion): – because in these parts of airplane are no details and systems, which must be tested in cold weather. (??)

    Reason 2 (in my opinion): – because the aircraft was moved to test place by land transport. (??)

    Maybe, somebody knows more reasons or real facts ?

    Dear friends !

    FIRST:
    These posts gave more questions, than answers.

    After the attentive studying of all Your messages I have drawn a next conclusions:

    1) The Singapore Auxiliary Air Force existed really (although POSTFADE stumbles at this, but three other authors – Mark12, Edgar Brooks, Lauriebe – confirm this fact).

    2) This Air Force had at least 3 Spitfires (Mark12 wrote about 5 examples, and Lauriebe – about 3 planes).

    3) The authors differs in opinions about exact serial numbers of those Spitfires, but TP205 and PK683 mentioned without doubt.

    4) These Spitfires were flown by British pilots (RAF pilots), and not Singapore native pilots.

    Are my conclusions true ?
    If these conclusion are wrong – please let me know.

    SECOND:
    I have one question:
    – had these Spitfires any special insignia, that “spoke” about the belonging of them to SiAAF (badges, letters/titles, codes, emblems) ? Who knows any info ?
    My opinion – “they had not”; but, maybe, I mistaken ?

    THIRD:
    I agree with SMS88 about list of Spitfires – it is interesting to see more from it.

    Wait for answers.

    Regards,
    Flyer.

    P.S.
    I think, the Malayan Auxiliary Air Force (MAAF) – is the subject for future individual thread(s).

    OK, mr JDK !

    Thank You for Your answer !

    I thought as much.
    If Yugoslavian Lysanders existed, the aviation historians have not left this fact without their attention (all the more so, if those Lysanders in 12 examples existed).

    So, “those Yugoslavian Lysanders” is wrong fact.
