    RE: Baggage overweight?

I work on check in, and if you go about 5kg’s(per passenger)overweight we usually turn a blind eye to it. Thats if your flying coach/economy, over this we will usually give you some kind of warning but if its anything over 30kgs we will charge you 3EUR for every kg you are over the limit. the best thing you can do is use a small carry-on bag and cram it full, we dont usually check small bags eg. ruck sck but we do usually check larger carry on bags e.g. panniers.

perfectly normal for easyjet, if you ever have the delight of been on their flights between 5 am and 6 am they usually make an announcement about haveing good cabin crew but they cant pay them enought to work that early in the day.

RE: QANTAS TO BUY SHARE IN AIR NZ

SYDNEY (Reuters) – Australia’s Qantas Airways will announce on Monday that it has signed an agreement to take a stake of around 25 percent in Air New Zealand, a source close to the negotiations has told Reuters.
The much anticipated deal will see Qantas subscribe for new shares in Air NZ and the Australian carrier will also be offered two seats on Air New Zealand’s board, the source said on Sunday.

“They’ll be announcing the deal they’ve signed but they will still need the approval of competition authorities,” the source said, adding that the announcement is due mid-morning on Monday New Zealand time.

Air New Zealand is 82 percent owned by the New Zealand government after an NZ$850 million (270 million pound) rescue package finalised this year.

The company has forecast core earnings for the year to June 2003 of around NZ$200 million, but recently said it still needed around NZ$200 million in further capital.

Shares in Air NZ closed up one cent at NZ$0.50 on Friday while those of Qantas, which is partly owned by British Airways, were up eight cents at A$3.93 partly due to speculation that a tie-up between the two carriers was imminent.

Qantas said on Friday that talks between the two airlines were ongoing while Air NZ was unavailable for comment.

saw a programe about the boeing 777 in 1995 and when they tested the aircraft down the runway without taking off from start-max speed to stop i think they said the runway was either 23,000 feet or 29,000 feet somewhere in a desert in the usa.

I disagree on this view because I ve worked at LHR T2 for 18 months and we never hear any problems about the viewing area. If someone was to aim a gun there all the peole would see it because the view gallery is packed most days. Besides airports have never really being bombing targets people prefer to do something whilst a plane is in flight.
