now all we have is a 5 times weekly ORD service!
Of course, that will return to Daily in the summer season
Very Very dissapointed in this news, always tried to fly bmi to the U.S when I could. But really its no suprise, their heart has never really been in Manchester, the bright lights of London have always atractted them like a fly to a neon lamp 😮
Ah well, its AA or US to the States for me next year now.
Ah shame Dan, i’ll be in school……but this time, i’ll be there teaching! 😀
Am I right in thinking that Virgin Atlantic were also mulling a possible takeover bid for the company as well at some point?
Who HASN’T thought of bidding for bmi!? :p
My parents are flying out to ORD with KLM in 20 mins, and I had a phone call to say it was bedlam in T2 @ MAN, with tempers very frayed.
Shame that XL have gone, but its no suprise, after they cancelled most of their winter schedule.
P.S And apparently, they were still taking bookings at 1am this morning. Thats what the Males driver told them, but thats just a rumor.
And West Ham will be looking for a new sponsor now too, tho I won’t loose sleep over that!!
Very sad news! Flown twice with them, and they really were a superb little airline.
Stunning Paul….just Stunning!
Really like the Icelandair one with the cloud behind it.
Well, it now be seen how long Silverjet will last?
Personally I see Silverjet hanging around for a while. They have a much superior product than the others that have dissapeared.
Ah well, had to happen sometime!
I’ll wait with baited breath to see what MAN’s future will be, but with LH at the helm, could be very good, could be very bad!
Ah well no real suprise there then! Was suprised the route lasted as long as it did following September 11th. MAN doesn’t need BA anymore. I never used the route, and never even thought of using it soon, so I won’t loose any sleep over BA’s demise from Manchester.
Give me a Pendolino over an Airbus now to London, as Andy said, much less hasle, and greener!
Brilliant! Really liking it!
Andy, Loganair are operating it as a franchise I believe, just like what LOG did for BA before, BA colours, but operated by Loganair.
Oh my word! The American airline industry really is in turmoil this week!
ATA! A real shame for the US. Always thought them more as a holiday airline, but they seemed to build a good selection of scheduled routre lately. Again, a real shame!
Sweet 😀
Being paid to fly….now that’s my kind of airline 😀
