Why wouldn’t it be? Aloha Airlines operate B737s around the Hawaii Islands. The distance from say Hilo to Honolulu is very similar to LGW-MAN and several carriers operate this route using B737 equipment so I don’t see why a CRJ shouldn’t.
But i’m sure there is just a tad more demand on the MAN-LGW route 😉
I had my economics cap on a few hours ago, just wondering how many seats would it to break even on a CRJ, or say a 737
And if Aloha operate 737’s, then that would indicate that a CRJ would not be sufficient??
And as Dan pointed out, the loads are not that spectacular anyway!
38 inch legroom in Y class!!
Now that is nice!
Also 767 looks a better choice to me than a L1011, tho wouldnt mind to see one again!
Just wondering is it viable enough to operate CRJ’s on such short sectors?
I’m not too sure how spread out Hawaii is, im sure Mr Nicholson will answer that for me, but i’d have thought equipment such as a Dash-8 Q400 would be sufficient and offer a lower cost-base for them to operate
Jusy my two pence, but they look a nice little setup
Off justplanes.com
Aer Arann which had announced the start of 3 routes from Liege (Belgium) flying to London, Birmingham and Lorient announced last night it would not start these routes for the moment.
Duo when they were still part of BA, a truly excellent airline, such a pity that customers thought they were a loco in the Easyjet model and didnt give them the support.
They never where a part of BA. Duo was bought out of BA as Maersk UK, to set up what was Duo 🙂
I believe they have been “posponed”
Honeymoon over for JB? Or this is just a blip. I hope so, they seem a decent airline
Where do Cargolux fly there 747’s to? Just LUX?
To begin with, he asked a good question, we all have asked that some day, but the fact is he asked by creating a number of threads asking the same question, which is uncalled for!!
Also using by738’s avatar without asking, then being rude about it, is not needed. Yes welcome to the forum mate, but please adhere to the Code of Conduct. Thats why its there!
BA operated LAX in 1994-1995 with the 767, loads were excellent, yeilds were not
UA could use SFO as they use ORD with bmi. SFO is a busling UA hub so it could, and should work with a 767, AA could do LAX no problem i’m sure!
I miss Manx, it was once the pride of an island, flew only British type aircraft, and had that beautiful three legs on the tail. I got to fly one of their JS41’s about 11 years ago, but i can’t recall any of it 🙁
Still miss these babies!!
And the day G-MIMA, was in the n/c and flying into LHR!!
And excellent shots there Michael!
Ed Cox really is amazing with the paint brush!
