Sorry to bring this back to life, but I simply had to post this.
The ultimate manifestation of ‘rights’

Moggy
Doesn’t the population at large have any “right” to be protected from people patently not fit to hold a lethal weapon?
Cover it up? Not with you.
(Edit) Ahh, sorry. Just looked at it quickly at work earlier and didn’t notice they’d scrubbed the title and logo off. Seems a bit silly.
The helicopter for one. Think of all the jobs no other machine can do.

Apparently there are all sorts of conditions attached to setting up a premium rate number though. Nice idea, but I don’t think it’s practical for most people.

Wow. Had no idea there was still one of these old birds flying. Thanks for sharing.
Loved that. Don’t miss “Bring on the Empty Horses” too.

Tell the story honestly, “warts and all.” IMHO, far too many aviation writers get too fond of their subject and gloss over the weaknesses and compromises that all aircraft have.
C-141 fun fact…Short Bros.had paper designs for a follow on to the Belfast with a new fuselage mated to C-141 wings.
The “Georgia Bel” (or “-Belle”)
Hmmm. Speaking as someone who used to lie awake listening to Gannets interminably night flying at Culdrose in the 60’s, it didn’t sound as I remember them.
Funny you should say that. Don’t have your experience, but even before I read your post I thought it sounded different to the way I remembered it.
“The Husband’s Story” by Norman Collins. Greatly under-rated novelist IMHO, best known for “London Belongs to Me.” Collins was one of the founding fathers of ITV, and I read once that most of his novels were written in the early hours of the morning as his days were fully taken up with the TV business.
