Don’t really follow football nowadays, but I suspect the Euros is now yet another tournament we’ll be writing-off after coming nowhere, despite the usual hype by the tabloids, with so-called “fans” reacting by smashing up pubs across the country when we go out. The whole England football set up feels like an embarrassment now.

“Baggage fee? Pack everything into an onboard carry on.” Mmm, not sure if 2 weeks’ worth of stuff for me, Mrs C and 2 young kids would really fit in an overhead locker. Thanks though, some tips and links I will definitely be looking at.
I think the notion of the DC-10 having crack problems stemmed (unjustly) from the American Airlines crash in 1979, when an engine fell off shortly after take-off. American’s maintenance procedures -mainly in using a forklift truck to change engines- was held largely responsible, but in the public’s mind the DC-10 gained a reputation for cracks; hence the old black humour about the DC-10 “Not being all it’s cracked-up to be” etc.
I’d like to say a big “THANK YOU!” to Chief Tech. Paul Blackah for arranging this for us, and giving us a wonderful guided tour of the BBMF Hangar.
I’d like to say thank you to your Grand Dad and his generation. Nuff said.
I think BAe once had a pusher project called SABA (Small Agile Battlefield Aircraft)

Perhaps the soldiers concerned misheard when the Padre spoke to them about peace on earth?
🙂 Or maybe the Taliban were singing “Make me a channel for your peace”

I know we’re all supposed to have black or white opinions on things like this, but I find it hard to either condemn or condone 100%. Of course they shouldn’t have done it, but who here in the UK can not remember that same impotent sense of outrage and desire for revenge after IRA bombings? On the other hand, you’d hope that American or British soldiers would have a greater sense of decency than to violate the dead, and of course every incident like this is probably a major recruiting coup to anti-western terrorist groups. Really is no easy answer IMHO.
