Don’t mean to pour cold water on things, but that hour-long ascent to the surface is going to be pretty nerve-wracking.
Maybe you could ask on PPRuNe?
Can anyone remember a film (probably 60’s vintage) in which a Grumman J2F Duck featured quite a lot? Seem to think it was about someone fighting a one man war on a Pacific island, but I could easily be wrong. I remember the local model shop owner saying he wished he knew when it was going to be on, because whenever it was shown people came in next day asking for the Airfix kit.
Eat it…..what are you, a man or a mouse! :diablo:
Erm…not sure… I will have to ask my missus…

More important than the sandcastles and deck chairs, what would have happened to the great CORNISH PASTIE? :diablo:
Lincoln. 7
Within the last hour I’ve had to throw away a Cornish Pastie which had gone past it’s sell-by date. I’m utterly inconsolable.

The Morane-Saulnier 315 in ‘The Blue Max’
Small point, but it was actually an MS230.

Nice thread. 🙂
My three year old son following me everywhere this morning wearing his Bob the Builder helmet, “fixing” things by tapping them with an old paintbrush, then painting the garden wall with water.

A few years ago, I was approached in a cafe in Thailand by an Australian bloke in a right pickle. Just hours after arriving in the country, he’d gone with a bargirl only to wake up alone several hours later, having been drugged and had had everything stolen; money, credit cards, mobile, watch, passport, the lot. All he was asking for (between the sobs) was enough money to phone the Australian embassy for advice. Gave him the equivalent of a few pounds, for which he was extremely grateful, and he even asked for my email address so he could try to return it. Totally plausible and believable, until a few days later I read in the local paper that he’d been doing it for weeks and was making quite a handsome living out of it. Only a few quid and I put it down to experience, but I must admit it made me much more wary. The chap our Bee encountered may well have been genuine, but I fear there are bound to be people who will exploit for their own ends the groundswell of support the country now has for our servicemen/women.

Would it be delivered in bubble wrap, and boxed?.

One thing’s for sure, the postman would still try and stuff it through your letterbox.
Shame to let this thread die. I’m currently reading a supposed biography of WWII Spitfire pilot “Barney” Barnfather by Angus Mansfield. Bit of an odd, cobbled-together feel to it, because apart from a page or two about the subject’s upbringing and entry into the RAF, there’s very little actually about him. Lots of quotes from ORB’s of the units he was with, diary entries from comrades, and the occasional single line from Barnfather’s log book, but (so far) almost nothing really about the man himself.
