    Ha!

The MP’s extenses row now has a historic aviation connection with the revelation that Labour MP Frank Cook tried to claim back a £5.00 donation he made at a Battle of Britain church service.

Just shows how cynical and insincere these lot are, that they even regard giving to charity as just another part of the job they need to be seen doing, and thus claimable on expenses.

Hey, you lot are brilliant. Thought I’d be lucky to get any replies at all. Don’t have too much time to spare so I think the DH museum is out this time. Saw HMS Belfast not long ago (Loved it. Got goosebumps imagining a real Naval engagement) Always been intrigued by the old Croydon Airport, but the visitors centre is only open one Sunday a month. Science Museum is currently favourite, but going to look here (see link) when I can (at work, so can’t spend too much time on the Interweb) Thanks again guys; mucho appreciatio.

Just been told the Mother-in law is coming for dinner tonight…don’t know whether to swear or cry!!!

Why not pretend to be French, like Eric Olthwaite’s dad?

I once got ticked off for resurrecting a so-called Zombie thread that was all of a year old. Not long after I was similarly rebuked for not doing a search for an existing topic before opening a new thread. I take the point though about people maybe not realising the info has become out of date. Maybe we need something to automatically flag up any gap of, say, 6 months between posts?

Welcome to the forum Mgacourt. Maybe this would be a useful place to advise others about your experience-

Handley Page O/400 anyone? Big step up from such as the DH-4. Pioneered strategic bombing with the RAF/Independent Air Force (precursor to the bombing campaign in WWII) and established “Handley Page” as a synonym for large aircraft. Just a thought.

Like so many others I’d have to say X-32. Looks like a Hasegawa kit with half the bits missing. How about the C-17? Fat and bulbous, and that parallel chord vertical tail looks like it was just cut from sheet stock. No one could say the F-4 is a thing of beauty, but for me it has an aesthetic appeal in the fact it looks the part; a fighter should look mean and brutish and functional. Ditto the A-10, where that long, tapered fuselage makes it look all the more like a gun with wings.

I hope they do a decent Pad Thai and stock a LOT of Chang.

    Horrendous!

Need a bucket of Meakhong to get me on that thing. 😀
