I couldn’t agree more! Bacon sarnies rule! 😀

Surely you mean Bacon & Mushroom?
A very tatty little book by William Green entitled something like “Fighters of the World” with little potted histories of types progressing chronologically from the Gunbus to the F-105 & P.1127. Did anyone else keep scrapbooks as a kid? I think I eventually had about 5, full of newspaper cuttings and histories & boxtops from Airfix & Frog kits. First “serious” book I bought myself when I started work was Warplanes of the Third Reich for the then astronomical price of £10. Parents and friends all thought I was mad.

Gorn quiet here lately. Who’s turn is it?
A spot of black humour in a book I’m reading. Apparently the Princess Alice shipping disaster in 1878 occurred right where the Becton North outfall sewer pumped thousands of tons of raw sewage directly into the Thames. A boatman returning from the rescue operations remarked that “people were not so much swimming, as going through the motions” (sorry)

Few things in life wind me up more than Road/Street Wars. Not just the scrotes without licences or insurance risking the lives of innocent people, but the attitude of the cops who (all too often) also seem to regard it all as a bit of a game with their “Alwoight lads? How you doing today? Good? Bit cheeky though, wonnit, driving through that playgound full of kiddies at 85 like that?” And the narrator doing his hardest to sound serious when he sums up with something like “For that little escapade, this muppet was given 6 hours community service and left in no doubt that he was a very naughty boy indeed” Really got to stop watching such rubbish.

Stayed overnight here recently for £40, and thought it very good value. Situated in a nice quiet square but only a few minutes walk from the tube and masses of shops and restaurants. Rooms a bit small and basic, but if you want somewhere central from where to explore, and without paying for a lot of amenities you may not use anyway, I reckon it’s just the thing in overpriced London.

Nothing yet….which is bloody unusual 😀 😀 😀 LMAO 😀
I had a day once when everything seemed to go OK, and I found it very unsettling. But then I started to worry about getting complacent, and I felt much better again. Us old farts can usually find something to be miserable about.

Ha!
The MP’s extenses row now has a historic aviation connection with the revelation that Labour MP Frank Cook tried to claim back a £5.00 donation he made at a Battle of Britain church service.
Just shows how cynical and insincere these lot are, that they even regard giving to charity as just another part of the job they need to be seen doing, and thus claimable on expenses.
