Well personally, I felt the best way to pay tribute was to rebuild the twin towers, just taller and better engineered of course. It would be like two huge middle fingers sending back a message if ya know what I mean.
I think the whole civilised world would be behind that sentiment. But what about the savages? Would it just make it all the more tempting as a potential target again? Then again, if you didn’t rebuild, that would be like giving into them. Difficult choice.

I love cats for all sorts of reasons, like their independence, playfulness, laziness and the way they’re such slaves to their own senses. A while ago I saw a little black one pause while climbing up a tree trunk in order to scratch his chin on a branch, and he enjoyed it so much he just couldn’t stop; kept on scratching away in blissful extasy until his legs gave way and he fell out of the tree. But they can be cruel little ******s too. A couple of summers ago we were quite chuffed to find a pair of bluet1ts nesting in a box we put up. Loved it when we heard the first “cheeps” from within, and watched the parents darting in and out all day with food, but when the time came to fly the nest the bloody cats got every single one. Still love them though.

I added the date of 1960’s as it had me wondering even by the name as I hadn’t heard of them before today.
Not important, but I thought I did that at 15.59? 🙂
I’m stuck at my desk at work about to get the sack for checking this out every couple of minutes. can someone update me when she up…
ThanksMatt.
Snap! Anyone know when she’s expected at Waddo? Cheers.
BRILLIANT! THANKS!
He has a photographic memory, apparently….
I have a photographic memory too. Unfortunately, I can’t get film for it now.
Not the Potez 840 you were thinking of? Always makes me think of a 4-engined Jetstream. Nowhere near the size of a Britannia though.
Very possible, not everyone is interested in the history of type of aircraft they end up flying, or care.
Sounds strange to us enthusiasts, but I have met military aircrew that just arn’t that interested.
OT slightly, I remember seeing a Jaguar pilot on telly once talking about his machine guns. Very disappointing. 🙁
Kraftwerk, “Autobahn”
Like many of us, the guys are looking a bit older than their heyday, but this still gives me a weird tingle in the spine. First had it on cassette when I was a lad way back in the seventies and when I played it on my old hi-fi with speakers in diagonally opposite corners of the room, the sound seemed to flash all around you. Sometimes used to sing “The cars can’t park on the autobahn” although I knew even then that couldn’t be right. Happy days.

In reply to Mr. Creosote, the airfield was probably North Denes behind a garage used for joyriding by Anglian Air Charter with Austers.
Thanks very much, mate. Helped me fill in a small piece of personal history.
Just a few weeks ago, out shopping with Mrs C, I came within a whisker of passing a favourable comment on another woman’s backside.
