It was a good night out – now I need someone to put 633 Squadron on!
🙂
Or even Battle of Britain

Caught an interloper, when Barnes goes to see Mutt Summers on the airfield prior to the practice in a Mosquito, the background line up of Lancs includes a Canberra !
It wasnt just me then I spotted the cranberry too. Did anyone spot the Lincolns in the background clearly in postwar colours, one with the serial RF445.
Anyone know what the twin engined transport that was in some of the Scampton shots?
Also spotted was an old haunt of mine the ‘Witch and Wardrobe’ on the banks of the river Witham in the shot over Lincoln Cathedral.
I watched in Portsmouth to a practically full house, I was surprised too at the amount of young people in too.
hmmmm :p
No rear fuz to be fitted, canopy will only be opened to first ‘stop’ to allow access into front cockpit only, will jury rig a support bracket under the rear of the canopy….
TT
The trailer mounted front fuse of WP863 at Boscombe Down has the rear runner mounted on a bracKet to allow access to both cockpits which seems to work fine.

A very moving finale and also sad when I saw the pilots names in the credits.
I agree some great pilots sadly no longer with us. I’ve forogotten how good this series was, must get the DVD. Don’t remember Moggy getting shot down in the book, time for a re-read again methinks.

Its CGI done by some Japanese programmer. been posted on here before. Great vid though
Excellent production. Definitely worth staying in for. My only gripes are that the
music was a little too loud and it was way too short. I would like to have seen a bit more on the selection and training of the new pilots for the fighters and the bomber in a way similar to a program I saw about the Reds in their 25th season a few years ago. But the aerial footage more than made up for it.
Yak50 over Portsmouth harbour yesterday at about 1645 and a Tiger Moth over
Lee on Solent at 1000 this morning

Interesting thread. Its a little early for the date range but it got me wondering how a land based version of the S6B would fair without the huge drag inducing floats and retractable undercart fitted. The engine would probably have to be tweaked for modern fuels and fit a smaller multi bladed prop for the required ground clearance.

A pair of Gnats in formation flying out of Hurn yesterday afternoon

I thought the Twin Pin was Classic Flight’s?
My mistake it was the Classic Flights Twin Pin G-APRS. It threw me a little as she is wearing her old ETPS colours. The BAC 1-11 was one of Qinetiqs development aircraft.

Was out at Boscombe Down on Wednesday and saw their Twin Pin and BAC 1-11 out and about

Just Five? hmmmmmm
1. DHC1 Chipmunk WP896 – The aircraft I first flew in
2. Avro Lancaster – The only thing better than the sound of a Merlin is four Merlins. Or maybe one with Hercules units just to be different.
3. DH Mosquito
4. Hurricane – easier to land than a Spitfire
5. Bell UH1 Iroquois – My favourite Egg Beater
The 1956 Farnborough ‘Scramble’ listing:-
NX679 AJ-G LANCASTER B7 Engineless. ED932 pasted on side.Used in Dambusters Film.
I spotted that too. Could it have been taken by one on the Farnborough staff on its arrival? Its not listed as displaying the year before.
