Fantastic photos! Who’s flying her?
Sorry for the slight thread drift here but who owns WG599 now? I understand it’s the ex-OFMC machine?
I think the combination of “gloss” and “matt” colours look a bit strange on the Hurri. Still looks fantastic though!
Give it to The Vintage Aviator Ltd and they’ll build you the aeroplane!
Worth noting that Sopwith Dove replica G-EAGA was spotted disassembled in the maintenance hangar
Saw a video of it landing on Facebook. Engine Sounded quite rough and made a popping sound like merlin’s do when they throttle back
1000 🙂
Steve Hinton tells us a little bit about it in the second video: http://ktla.com/2015/05/01/planes-of-fame-air-show/
Hard hats being worn for towing the B24. Just in case it falls on their heads…
I have to agree, it is a very interesting and informative article. I really want that double page gladiator picture to be blown up onto a massive poster!
The fuselage was mis-aligned during the second restoration IIRC
Notice that Bud Anderson’s signature is no longer on the P51.
