You know I never did understand the importance of proof reading until this moment. Shakes his head in shame.

If the cold war had turned hot in 1986 I would have been smack in the way of the main Soviet assault. Hmmm. Sobering thought. But that only assumes that the Soviet Union intended to launch an assault and looking back I’m not sure that we were more afraid of them than they were of NATO.

They don’t give up do they? Even as it is entering service they are trying their damnest to get it scrapped. What they don’t realise is that they have to be taken seriously before their opinions will have a chance of being listened to. I suppose they think that if they turn enough idiots against this very important peice of kit then maybe democracy will kill it. 10 out of 10 for sheer bloody minded persistence though eh?

One problem with the EH101 in US service. Its not an American helicopter. Non American hardware has a very hard time making it past, er? Congress is it? Then again some have made in the past and the EH101 does have a lot of US investment in it so maybe it will get through afterall.

No worries there mate. My 4 month old daughter gets read Mr Men books to her by her mum but I read her Osprey Spitfire Aces books. We are on the late model Spits now but we have gone through early models and I reckon when she is 6 months I can start reading her ‘Spitfire, the history’ I should be retired by the time we finish it it is a hefty tome. There a few more Spitfire books to get through and then we can start on the Hurricane.

I’d like to Meet Bob Doe and say thankyou. I’m not even sure I can now but to me Bob represents the thousands who fought, died and/or survived the war. Army Navy and Airforce. He always said we ‘we don’t want thanks or sympathy, we just want to be remembered’. I hope he knows many people do and I still want to say thankyou. I hope its enough.

You’re right that’s democracy. And democracy allows everyone the express is own opinion even if it’ s not yours.

Fair enough. I was not aware that I was stifling anybody’s opinions. My appologies sir. 😮

It depends how you look at History Comet. Habsburg made stability in Europe as well. The Soviet-Union collapsed because it was not multi-ethnic but Russians dominated. Same for Yug. Tito’s rule however made Yug. into one of the best states to live in Central-Europe, much better than it’s neighbours from the warshaw-pact. So your arguments are not correct.

………..and like Comet said so very well……….what ultimately happened to them? They were politically, industrially, economically and demographically destroyed. They are no more. They a ex-countries. Deceased. Gone and forgotten. They started war after war and those wars were responsible for the deaths and the suffering of millions. All because people like you are on a power trip.
