A MkXVI (obviously) at Wigram, Christchurch, NZ.

Either the real McCoy with no visible serial, or a damn convincing replica (I suspect the latter).

That is a lovely thing to behold.

“misunderstanding”…that only applies when something bad is done by people other than Americans right  If not, hope you remember that attitude.
As to team sports…humm…i seems to remeber that usually at the end of the game, the huge majority of the crowd would shout out the name of the MVP of the winning team, well, then there’s Garry there trying to explain to people that “no, this is a team sport”…what an “individual”

No mate that means everybody as it said in the post. Everybody.

Thats sweet Chris. I haven’t done a skin for IL2 since the early days. Must get the paint brush out again. My only problem is that they never really were very adventurous when it came to Spitfire paint jobs and I’m afraid the Spit is the one I fly the most.

Yes there is that. I think it was all a big misunderstanding meself, look at the arguments you see on pretty much any forum you care to mention. My point is that a lot of arguments start because it is difficult to get a point across over thousands of miles and differences in culture however small. You can only really do that when face to face. People get the wrong idea and the point is very often missed.

Perhaps thats what happened between the east and the west and what is happening all over the world today. There is a lack of respect brought about by misunderstanding and we are all doing it. The problem is that Kruschev (spelling please) did indeed say those words but English was not his native language. Is it possible that he never really meant it?

“And what exactly did he do to force this abandonment? I doubt there could have been any other result unless the west treated their former ally half as well as they treated their former enemies.”

Now there is a thought. Does anybody know exactly how NATO and the WP became such deadly enemies after fighting tooth and nail along side each other in WW2? My guess is total hatred by the yanks against anything remotely red. Fair enough Stalin wasn’t a great help but why did it carry on thus after he died? That said it seems certain that the Soviets had infiltrated almost every aspect of American life including some of the highest echelons of power. So maybe the Americans has some reason at least to be as paranoid about communism as they were.

“Ronald Reagan stood against the darkness of communism. He won the fight for freedom and brought down what he rightly termed the “Evil Empire.” “

Now that does sound like the Evil Lord Chuckles. This is getting entertaining.

    Yes! RIP Mr Reagan.

A man who recognized the evil of the USSR unlike the many fawning parasites in Europe and elsewhere and most of the other leaders of the time who didn’t have the guts to stand up for western democracy and be counted. They prefered “detante” rather than showing a little backbone.

“Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

    Sauron

Speaking of fawning parasites, how is the United States of Canada coming along Sauron? Have you managed to attach Canada to the USA yet? How many followers do you have? 😀
