Spitfire TB863 is a mark 16 Spitfire as far as I know.I think what makes the difference (from a MK IX) is the Packard Built merlin ,a 266 variant?

Thanks very much.Any ideas if it was a combination of markings or colours from an actual squadron?
Any chance of posting up the colours scheme from the magazine?
Does anyone know what are the plans for the DX IWM Spitfire 22?I have heard its being referbished at present. Will it keep its silver colour scheme?
What I have always wondered is the markings worn by the OFMC Buchon in the final year of its operation?
Does anyone know?
Mark Hanna ,very much missed!

Daz,
Are you going to continue with your plans to do ‘The dark Blue World’? in 1/48 th scale.
If so ICM have put out a similar RAF ground personnel set like the Airfix kit I mentioned.I think it has more possibilities than the 1/72 scale kit you were trying to go before.(my opinion).
Try your local or some internet sources to get the kit.Good Luck .
I had the good fortune to meet Mark Hanna at the Warbirds over Wanaka airshow ’92 +’94.What a fantastic guy to talk to.Realy genuine and had so much enthusiasm about aircraft from the WWII era as well as the Jets.Great memories .
Most memorable .Test flying the Alpine Fighter Collection Curtiss P-40 on the first day of W.O.W ’92. His and Rays display of the XIV and XVI at WoW ’94. Magic.
Mark V.
What would you consider as a benchmark for a WWII aircraft that has a good representation of authentic/correct markings?
Even if its not flying.

Yes very true Mark.
I was just thinking of the two seat Spitfire that in Wales.Just a little different than what we expect or are used to.
I think Tom Blair has had the Spitfire flying for a wee while so cant be too put out by the colours.
Do it once ,do it right Mark?
One of the UK aviation magazines had a very good article on Neville Duke and the Hunter he flew.I think that the Hunter is now at the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum.
Nice Hunter flying at the moment in the light duck egg ble/green(?) colour scheme, in the UK.
Well, I guess you pick holes in all aircraft colour schemes. The Spitfire may not have the correct colours .But if I saw it flying past I dont think I would critisize it.
Or even If I had the opportunity to fly it myself ..would you have second thoughts because of the paint scheme .Atleast the Spitfire is flying.Thank the owner for that . Owning ,flying and maintaining a Spitfire cant be easy on the pocket.
Hmm .Nice close up pic’s of the Harvards.Great!
Jorgo ,are you a Kiwi in exile now? I will be going to the convention as well as goig to DX airshow on Sunday 12th .Would you like to catch up?

Hi Jorgo.
What would you like to know about the convention?
Perhaps you would like to join the OFMC Tiger Squadron and become a part of the organization. It is well worth it.
I joined at legends last year.
P.S Hows the flying going. You have some great pics from N.Z there, reminds me Kiwi land alot.

Thanks for posting the pictures of the Spitfire MK 732.Pitty it doesnt show the aircraft in one peice!!!
Do you have any pictures of when it was in its Netherlands colour scheme.A bit of change from the usual RAF colours

One must never call an aeroplane a ‘kite’ must one chaps? It is just not done.
If it is on the cheap.Airfix have what you want for Spitfire V, VIII and so forth. Then there are the Hasegawa and Tamiya kitsets that are better but need more ££There is a MPM 1/48 scale kit ..very good ,has some resin parts and comes out very nice .But may cost more than you bargained for.
Check the galleries on http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/ and you might get a better idea.A nice web site too.
