Best thing to do is once decided on a aircraft, look round at the different ones ands decide for yourself which ones you find more pleasing.

Are you using add-on scenery?

i had a problem with EGVN runway being six ft higher than the surrounding airfield, easily corrected using the afcad file.

I’m using the european mesh add-on from Abacus. Not as detailed as some available but adds a little more realism over my main flight routes without hitting the frame rates to hard

undoubtably my best at the moment has got to be the Vickers package that came free with the Pc Pilot magazine, Vanguard ,Valeta,Viscount, Viscount. Excellent sounds panels and textures and a good range of animations.

i got a 747-400 the other day from simviation uses default panel but still a good model. Unfortunatly everytime i take off i have to return with smoke eminating from the tail as a tail strike occurs without touching the ground and wont go away ! Also on touchdown inboard engines grounded out as well.
no reflection on my flying skills honest. Obviously the contact pionts need adjusting.
