As time goes on we are more and more getting towards the “ideal aerodynamic shape” decided by car manufacturers, that makes most cars look the same and smooths those nice angles into blobs with a wheel on each corner. We also see the same in aircraft design especialy on the civil scene. And while i see that the designers are just doing there jobs, some of them need to have a word with them selves !
I for one like the idea of ugly planes and have my likes/dislikes like anyone else and personnely think that the disgusting F117 and that Eurofighter thingy are grotesque !!
Planes especilly military ones are designed with a purpose in mind.
Favourites are the Buccaneer, Tornado and the VC-10. But some of those classic shapes like the Spit and P51 still make you stop and stare at a thing of beauty.
which i suppose some people will find repulsive as well !
well if you can let me know ( hope so ) that is one of the few aircraft i have’nt got now for my RAF fleet and would appreciate a copy …………
i saw that program on Discovery wings , it was good, and some of the setups amazing in time and effort spent mnaking them. I couldnt help but think though that they were taking the p*## out if the guy who seemed to spend most of his time in his garage dressed in a flight suit !! Even his wife seemed to be doing it ! His F18 cockpit was good though and his home made g-suit was very impressive but ……….!!!!!!!
incidently there is a good article in PC Pilot latest issue about the latest consoles and peripherals available.
i did and very pleased with it i am as well
not many do for fsnav anyway do they, lots of key sharing going on for it i’ve noticed
just tried it and it does work after a fashion,
outboard engines become hollow.
forward lower fuselage shows as white
panel doesnt work although it appears
somethings that a experienced tinkerer might be able to sort perhaps ?
oh well thats a shame, althougth its only a matter of time before we do have to pay i suppose

only one i ever found in my search for the complete RAF fleet havent tried it in 2004 yet though
i agree very funny, dare say some dim wit will take ir seriouslu though, lets see how long it remains up !!
Wasn’t the Tsr.2 at Cosford the one that fell off a lorry ? and they used airbags to lift it back upright. Not much damage either if i remember right,
i got some pics of it in a book somewhere sure i have ……………………….off to look in the loft now
i would have to say a trip to Thunder City would pretty much cover me, but would’nt turn down anything if it was offered and especialy a chance to fly in 558 or a victor.
ah well !! the dream is still festering in the bottom of the penny jar on the fire place looks like about £100 in it now only another £10,000 till i get to South Africa !
better go now off to wander the house looking for odd change lying around !!
cant you upgrade Fsnav at no extra cost ?
thanks andrewm. job done.
is that the one that was built on Discovery home and leisure ?they did a series of programs and you can buy it on video no i think
