Called in there last weekend and there was a lot of activity. THe Vulcan + Varsity were recieving attention, and the Hunter Lightning and Bucc had the air whistling through them to blow the cobwebs away, It was a cracking day weather wise.

I’m with JohnC , the pairs Lightning run and then the Victor……… thats a sound that lives on for days in darkest recesses of your ear canal.

The Bucc is pretty loud aswell.

simply put yes, using vatsim or sbrelay both are capable of running the two together. Not sure about FShost can;t remember. And the other sim networks i have never tried.

Guess the best thing to do is to plan your flight before hand using the planner within fs.

ATC within fs2004 is pretty lame sometimes but if you file a plan for ifr it knows where you would like to go at least. Then you can spend the rest of the flight thinking why am i on the wrong freq for here ? whens it going to give me turn to finals ?

I guess the key phrase is “as real as it gets” which goes right through to actually costing almost as much as a plane in real life!!

I saw on another forum speculation as to the costs ………..

It is good a newer version will be released but it is an expensive hobby to have if they keep upgrading it.
I just sorted out all the discs of addons i have got since fs98 to put some away and, i can say that i am by far not the only one. But with hundreds of quids worth of software now obsolete and practically worthless unless something specific is required by a fellow simmer i am dreading starting the pile all over again when 2k6 comes out.

I dares say it will be bloody expensive aswell.

Not that that will stop me getting it though, something Microsoft know very well i suspect.

on the subject og the young lad. In the local free paper in Stoke today was a small artical and picture. Feb 10th issue

    Spitfire fan Dean flies high

“Historians were so impressed by aletter a 10-year old schoolboy wrote about inventor Reginald Mitchell they sent him a model plane”

“But the letter made a big impact on the members of the historical aviation forum, who were so impressed they asked his school if they could send him a minature spitfie as a present”

Only a couple of qoutes sorry cuz i cant get scanner image to a decent standard.

But at least you know it was all worth it, Well done all invloved

As a resident of Stoke On Trent i can tell you all that there is actually a road named after R.J.Mitchell Reginald Mitchell Way, a stretch of road running offf the A500 into Tunstall. At the roundabout half way up there is a paved picture of the Spitfire and the Walrus. Also in Longton towncentre there is a R.J.Mitchell/spitfire memorial tiled plaque/picture thing. I’ll try to get tsome pictures over the next few days and post them.

As to young Dean, i do hope you guys can arrange something for him along the lines mentioned above.

The Spitfire in Hanley mueseum is still under restoration as far as i know

    regards andy
