One of the reason I am praying too. the other being the sea fury
Hopefully there will be 4 Typhoons there as advertised.
Don’t know about the Sea Fury, but the out-of-hours movements page on the Royal Navy website lists a Sea Fury as being at Leeming on the 11th of September. This was last updated on Friday.
I’ll be there on the Friday and Saturday, (enthusiasts weekend package).
Ditto. Best way to do the show in my opinion. Just praying for good weather.
True – but the aircraft is what the public see, so shouldn’t priority be given to the appearance of those aircraft?
Clean aircraft isn’t on Budget Airlines’ list of priorities though, especially when there isn’t a back-up pool of aircraft to draw from when required.
Also, what happened to taking pride in your fleet? That FR Bird is taking the pi$$….imagine what would be goign through passengers minds as that pulls up to the gate??
I agree, it does look very shabby, but it’s probably about to be withdrawn from use anyway so Ryanair won’t be bothered about how dirty it is.
What lens are you using Bod?
I just updated my equipment a couple of weeks ago with the Canon 10D and 100-400mm IS. Really pleased with the results so far, so I’ll be getting to EDI whenever I can. 🙂
Yeh, the narrow gauge fence doesn’t show up with a big lens, it’s more or less invisible.
I thought I heard my name being mentioned! 😀
Here’s some of mine from yesterday taken from the Ingliston Showground end. Highlight for me (because primarily I’m a mil spotter) was the rare sight of a US Army RC-12K from the 1st Military Intelligence Battalion at Wiesbaden.

Rarity value on the civvy front was provided by this Ukrainian-registered Falcon 50.

Other usual suspects included :

Courtesy of a post on Scotavnet Yahoo Group, the 777 is due out at 1500 local this afternoon enroute LHR.
I’ll be there to see it depart myself. 🙂
If you can’t get on Scotavnet, here’s a link to another very good EDI website which at the moment has a list of the rugby charters on a pdf file :

Hey Bod, I was there at the same time as you. I saw the Globespan and kilkenny. You might have noticed a silver VW PAssat going backwards and forwards across the car park? Well that was me attempting to drive as I am only 16. Anyway……
We found a great lane later, just off Turnhouse Road that was within photo taking distance of the Air Atlanta 742. Missed the AF as I didn’t know it was coming 😡 There were some interesting landings today with the CRAZY WIND! 😀
Hi Stuart. Can’t remember seeing a silver Passat driving erratically across the car park! :p
Didn’t bother going to see the Atlanta – looked a bit boring in all over white. It arrived Friday btw.
Doesn’t give a departure time for the Atlanta – just says departs 21st. It’ll be after dark anyway.
Try signing up with Scotavnet again.
Forgot to say that the AFR 747 is due in at 0900 and out at 1100 btw.

Bod, next time you hear about a 747 coming into EDI, could u let me know! I was refused entry into the aviation group. no reason given
DaAng nabbit!
ARGH! Sorry Sandy – I thought you were on Scotavnet now! Well, it’s due back on Monday along with a lot of other stuff – including G-ZAPU. There is also an unmarked Air Atlanta B.747 sitting on the cross runway at the moment – due out tomorrow.
There aren’t any rugger charters due to arrive tomorrow until 1800 hours – to pick up pax after the game. Most departures are on the Monday, including a couple of Axis Airways.
Can’t understand why you weren’t allowed onto the group. Do you have a Yahoo! account?
I could be persuaded to give GLA a go I think. Will there be any Paraguayan Air Force Casa 212s there that day? 😀

cool shots as ever. Have you also made pictures of the planes doing the crosswind landing?
Sadly no. I was at the wrong end for that. 🙁
