Did you notice???
In the photo that Mike J posted of the chinese P-61 what would a P-47 (you catch a hint of it in the photo) be doing there and how did it get there.
Gerry
Whoa
Ok I completely missed the boat here, when I first saw your contest I knew the type of aircraft but in your contest you asked what was BEHIND the photographer as this airplane would be in front of him. I found your question strange as how could you tell what was behind him without intimate knowledge of what the photographer was standing on to take the picture so I didn’t even bother answering… well next year I’ll just send an answer…:)
Happy new year to all, Gerry
It would seem I can’t attach the short movie so here’s the link
Gerry
Your man is correct Airspray out of Red Deer, Alberta (an hour and a half south of Edmonton) are flying the A- 26’s but rumor has it that they are being phased out and replaced by electras in the not to distant future. And another rumor is that the Alberta Aviation museum here in Edmonton is hoping to negotiate for one… OK that’s a rumor I’m starting but hopefully 🙂
Hi Steve
The Privateer came out in mid to late 43 and I believe this picuture to be earlier then that. The Privateer also had a nose turret the same as the later version B-24’s. Thanks all the same.
Gerry
Thanks Dan
I’m looking at the original and there’s no other aircraft or building in the picture, if You’d like I could email a larger version for you to have a better look.
Gerry
Hey Guys
I’m not sure why you don’t know but it has been released, I picked it up here at HMV in West Edmonton Mall in July or August sometime. Granted it was a special order but I have it now 😀 Great movie

Hi I’m a volunteer at the Alberta Aviation museum here in Edmonton, Alberta and we also have a Canuck, I know there are spares around so I’ll inquire tomorrow if we have any inner tubes available.

Good luck, Gerry
Where oh where…..
Hi Peter
Can you tell me approximatly where you might have seen it as I’d be interested in seeing if I could locate it and taking some pictures of it.
On a differant note I’m presently a volunteer at the Alberta aviation museum here in Edmonton and am presently restoring the floats to be attached to a Noordyn Norseman that is going to be displayed on a pedastal in front of the museum. As soon as that’s done I’m starting work on the B-25 that we recently aquired from eastern Alberta. I’m also searching another B 25 that crashed in the wilderness in northeastern Alberta with the plans of recovering it to aid in the restoration of the one we have. There’s also a good chance that we’ll picking up a Tiger moth from western BC in the not to distant future. We just aquired a Fleet Canuck. For a small museum we have lots going on and a fairly active restoration department.
Hope all is well, sincerely Gerry
ps We also have a Mosquito that was finished in 418 Sqn. colors.
