Congratulations on the new job Ian.

Think another forum visit sounds in order to check up on you!

Not that this will clear anything up but according to Glasgows Own the shield on 602’s shield ‘A’ flight had a white background and ‘B’ flight an orange one. Introduced while at Kenley and continued onto IXs and XVIs.

Got to agree with most comments – rather see it in the air in (almost) any scheme than stuck ont he ground.

Would love to see some of their other aircraft in this country at some point. Any reason they don’t bring anything over?

Fantastic pics – looked like a great flight.

I’d definitely be in the queue as well if I wasn’t so far away! Really looking forward to going next weekend now.

I had a hunt about e-bay as well last night to see who he was and found the same thing. Again I don’t him or his motives but it would be a shame for someone else to make a profit out of this collection by buying it up and then selling it on but I suppose that’s the world we live in today.

With it being just down the road from me I’d be interested in seeing more.

If it was the weekend I’d manage to drag myself through for the day!

I remember them being great too. Only 40 minutes down the road as opposed to several hours as it quite often takes now to get to one. Also remember the last one (at least I think it was) as the B-24 (can tell what forum I normally use) was supposed to be it’s first appearance on it’s UK tour – unfortunately a no show.

Might not be of interest to some of you but I was reading that Air Atlantique are considering replacing their (bi-annual?) air show at Coventry with some similar events round the country in airshow starved locations. Could end up with something else north of the border!

Seems to be more additions to the list than updates!

Does anyone have details on anything listed here?

    Great idea!

Don’t know anyone connected with clubs but do know plenty of fans and several forums like this for teams. If you keep us informed of progress I’m sure some of can help spread the word closer to the time to try and drum up some bids.

Think my teams been missed though – they’re in the Scottish 1st division!

I had a great day too. First time at Breighton and first time at an event that size.

Missed the Buchon taxi as I was at my car (and on) most of the afternoon.

Some fantastic flying especially the Mustangs (I’m a bit biased though) and the Spitfire and Hurricane. Mew Gull was very impressive too.
