Are the USN pilots so poorly trained or is it that F/A-18 is utter crap as some of u guys say that they need to be operated in good and clear weather conditions???

could it possibly the fact that it is nothing more than an accident?
that is unless that you consider MiG-29’s, F-16’s, Mirage 2000’s, MiG-21’s, Su-27’s, F-4’s and the like are all utter crap because they crashed in bad weather conditions.

I’ve always liked both aircraft and I dare say (depending on the relevant variants of the two aircraft) that it would be the skill of the pilot(s) at the controls who would determine which would win out if the two were to go head to head

Isn’t that always the case..

Ken, any idea as to why the SSTs seem to have X44 designators? I understand 144 was in order, and 244 would be the SPS-2 (hence the 2), but Tu-344? Has Tupolev decided that SSTs will have X44 designators? What’s next, the Tu-160 variant Tu-444? 😀

I like this picture a lot but the F-14A Tomcat looks cooler than the less atractive F-15

agreed, the F-15 is perhaps the most boringest looking fighter that America has produced in the post WW2 era.
