What ever you think it’s still a nice little bus, I’d fly in one any day
the better question would be.. would you fight in one? π
what happened to the view of non-involvement that is a conservative philosophy..or was it a paleo-conservative philosophy.
Anyways option A seems to be more likely. The US could always strongly back an opposition candidate and force down a candidate they don’t like during an election (ala Ukraine). But it would be wiser if the US backed a candidate that wasn’t such an authoritative dictator like in the past..many Latin Americans are still bitter about that.
To SOC.. I don’t think ignoring Venezuela will be possible, especially since they’re now dealing their oil to US rivals in their respective regions.
The Italian “Apache”? hardly, it’s too small to be comparable, it’s like saying the MiG-29 is the Russian F-15, or the F-16 is the American Su-27.
But Flex hit the nail on the head.. why go for the nice looking, but thinly armored and more expensive Mangusta when you can easily get your hands on the Mi-24 w hich can also carry some troops too.
I wonder what the combat capability of a modernized P-51 Mustang
all this makes me want to play Ace Combat 5 with the MiG-31M..perhaps in Yuktobanian colors?
Hi to everyonne,
I have a question to you military aviation buffs: why is it that the French pulled out of the EF project and proceeded to develop their own plane, the Rafale?
I have read a couple of things on this on the web. English sites argue that this is simply due to french arrogance. I have no reason to doubt english assessments of the French ( π ), yet I was wondering what other factors may have led the French to take that decision: were they mostly of a political nature, were they due to conceptual/technical considerations, were they of a military nature…..??!
Thanks for the response/info!!
The French arrogance bit is nothing more than sources who tend to be Francophobe.
The reason why the French pulled out is because intense disagreements over the French wanting to use a female voice for the computer. The Germans kept insisting to use a masculine German man named Rudolf for the voice, but the French wanted zero of that and left
well, who were the other contendors for the upgrade? IAI?
Hahahaha… the US could care less about so called democracy. Once one side is branded red or even slightly red (or even nationalist) then the other side gets the money and support… even if they are psychos.
duh sherlock, that was the point I was trying to make

As some one who is one of the official minorities in Russia.. I’ll say this. The recent events in Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan as well as the US push for a pro-Western Belarus is very unnerving for the Russians, especially with the Pro-Russian candidates/leaders are now out of action in those two countries, and perhaps Belarus as well.
Because of this there has been protests in Bashkortostan, which is one of the strongly nationalistic regions (which include Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Sakha, Chechnya, Kalmykia, and to some extent, Chuvashia).
Can Putin do something about this? Unlikely, many of the pro-Russia candidates aren’t too popular and aren’t very democratic either.. although not that i am implying the US supports only democratic popular people either, but they’ve done a better job of using the notion of democracy to help change the political leanings of many of these countries, to their favor.

I’m pretty interested in what kind of camouflage the IN will paint on their MiG-29Ks.
MiG-31M

is it so hard for you to go on google and look it up?
You can see the single piece windshield clearly here
