60% complete as it says, though this picture has not been updated in a while. We may even see this thing fly pretty soon, probably before the Fighter or the Aircraft Carrier Trainer(which will probably replace the Su-25s)
thanks for the picture 🙂
i’ve a feeling the striker, fighter bomber, jammer and recon version is the same aircraft, just change what it’s equipped with :p looks strikingly like a Su-25.
but wow, the 60% completion of the UCAV version goes to show how the world is moving towards X-45 clones. I agree with Wacho, i see pics of two seater F-15s that’ll probably help coordinate their X-45s and F-18Es probably with their X-47s..wonder what the RUsskis will do.
Actually, the Zond series, aka BPL project by Sukhoi are the same thing, Globalhawk lookalike. Yakovlev is working on it’s UCAV from the Yak-130 trainer. It looks totally different, it’s a flying wing. I highly doubt it will share anything else with the Yak-130 trainer except probably the landing gear and possibly the engine.
Russian AF has not planned anything regarding UCAVs in the future of their AF, but we’ll see how things go, and how the Yak UCAV will go.
got a pic?
It does not look like a Chinese engine to me too but it does not look like a modern American turbofan to me either. Personally my first impression is that it’s the WS-9, copied from the British Spey turbofan, which does not have fanned nozzles by the way, much like this engine. The JH-7As don’t have fanned nozzles either.
no need for a pseudo analysis 🙂

my monkey friend, here’s the best tip
press CTRL + ALT + DEL
then go into your task manager
look under processes
and see any odd programs running.. if you’re not sure what does what, type in the file name on google like say
you see svchost.exe running, you can go google it and most of the results will tell you what that file does. svchost is safe, but there are many other programs with mal intent. this is the best way to check things and clear your cookies often, and use a lesser known browser like Mozilla Firefox or Opera.
Yes, I was being political suggesting there was no market for such an aircraft… Just looking at a few of f-18s previous threads… F-18 vs Mig-29 or compare the western Europes aircraft industry with that of Russias I mean there is no precident for poltiical issues there at all are there? If he had an intent or direction he wanted this thread to go in he should have made that clear.
The direction was in anticipation to build up the thread into this thread, which is essentially about modern combat designs

but yes thanks for your reply which has already been effectively answered by mr Vortex and Ogami, and for your pseudo analysis, don’t quit your day job and avoid that valium please 🙂
Thanks. They did stop upgrading those lancers, didn’t they. And now it is clear that those nations are swithching to F16/Gripen etc. Somehow the Bison is better armed but personally I think that LCA will improve that in a big way. So the Bison is a stop gap like the Lancer.
I may get bashed for this, but it’s more like that it would take India a very long time to replace all their MiG-21’s with LCA, Mirage 2000 or whatever due to the large numbers they have.
Romania’s numbers are rather small and replacing the entire fleet in the near future is doable
well, its hard to find more examples when all vietnam has purchased for its air force in the last decade or so ‘just includes a few Sukhois and a missile system’.
a point which i have made repeatedly yet u still somehow managed to miss.
which is the only examples you can provide
thats just sad.
unfortunately it is sad, it saddens me that you cannot prove your point but continue to post the same thing over and over again. 🙁
that and the fact that i started posting more the three years before u.
it was funny to begin with, but not all ur blunders are just plain sad. 🙁
are you saying this board had to endure 3 years of flip flops and hypocracy? 😮 now that is just plain sad..
and another flip flop..
this ‘discussion’ has gone off-topic long enough, and i will not waste more time giving out the same answers and free english lessons again and again.
Well well.

yes, the FC-1 and LCA is very graphical  which is why you had to post something that does not pertain to the topic.. if you got a prob with my sig, go take it up with the admin or mods and stop wasting space
do u have a mental condition that blocks out things u dont want to see or sth?
i have already given u of other examples stretching back more then ten years.
which so far just includes a few Sukhois and a missile system
however since u dont seem to comprehend subtilty, i’ll have to make it blunt – raising the same question in different forms again and again while totally ignoring the answers is the most desperate kind of face saving measure there is. so why dont u save urself further embaressment and spare the rest of us more of ur repetative and redendent jiberish and hair spliting and just answer my question, what else have they purchased that mimics China.. or better yet, name some things that they HAVEN’T mimiced from China..still waiting agian.
so well done, u won, u got more free time and is more bored then i. all hail hamburger. now, will u please leave us alone and go bother someone else?
which is why I have much less posts compared to you ranting on to me, sens, canpark, etc
i sure hope so too 🙁
well, sorry if the subtilties of the english language is a little too hard for u to grasp.
“mirrowing china’s military aviation purchases quite exactly”
and I quote from myself again
so mr poo poo, what else has Vietnam bought that mimics Chinese acquisition hmmm? by your logic, Indonesia is also mimicing Chinese acquisition too
thus, I quote to you
well, sorry if the subtilties of the english language is a little too hard for u to grasp.
unfortunately some people are unable to read some one elses point and is rather adamant on defending their own distorted view while avoiding the main issue, thus filling up this thread with useless posts.
baad mr poo poo, you no get no chow chow today!
Both are very light aircrafts. Looking at the range both Lancer and Bison are point defence. Looking at radar size they are just a start for BVR. But I am indeed googling. I wonder why Romania elected Lancer.
In my opinion, it was economical reasons. The MiG-21, despite being the Barbara Bush of the air force, is still much cheaper, simpler and easier to maintain than the more complicated and expensive MiG-23 and MiG-29. There’s still a large number of MiG-21 operators vs 23 and 29 operators and parts are easier to find. Plus there’s ALOT of companies offering upgrades to the MiG-21.. thus it makes a cost effective interim solution until something better could be acquired. It is likely that this “better” aircraft will be western, so why not upgrade it with western avionics and get the pilots used to them beforehand.
Those Gripen-guys really specialize in selling their junk to the have-naughts of this world! That is just sligthly immoral (also it’s absurd I say something like that).
details please my floating head friend 😀
the devil is in the details.
indeed it is 😀
mirrowing china’s military aviation purchases quite exactly
sounds like a detailed way of saying “copy” ..oops I just said the magic word 😮
now now, best you stop diverting from the main issue.. what else has Vietnam copied from China hmm? you keep on avoiding this, you naughty boy you. :dev2:
still waiting for you to mention the Sovremenny purchase :dev2:
So the Bison is a very big improvement while Lancer is just a little more western avionics?
BVR capability, also a bit more extensive
go google the information yourself.
First part: LCA?
Second part: edit your lines. Bad manners.
what about LCA? I never mentioned it. Unless you’re referring to my signature 😎
