the Chilean air force is in the process of integrating the Derby to their F-5, they’ve installed already the ELTA M-2032 among other things
Camaro.
Pics my sexy Peruvian friend!
and if possible how bout pics of the cockpit of Singaporean and Brasilian upgrades ๐
I agree, the F-5 seems to be better in most of the ways. How did they both do in combat, against each other? I think they were involved in Iraq-Iran War and few other wars.
well I know you have access to ACIG, why not check there for starters ๐
Iran has both a MiG-21 variant (not Bis, but J-7) and F-5s maybe Tom might know something.
Anyways it seems that maintenance and operationale rates wise, the F-5 still seems to be running well after all these years. the same could be said about the MiG-21.. but you don’t hear too much about F-5 crashes ๐ or F-5’s getting shot down! ๐ฎ
Does anyone know if there’s any project going around that allows F-5s to use BVRAAMs similar to how the BISON allows use of the Adder?
What do you guys think of these two aircraft in terms of AA and A2G. Both have been used in both of the roles, especially the Mig-21.
The F-5 has 5 hardpoints and 2 wingtips while Mig-21 has 5 hardpoints, the F-5 has a MUCH bigger payload, has a quite a large nose to accomodate a good BVR radar. The Mig-21 has a single engine=less maintenance, it has better climb rate, it’s faster and has higher ceiling. What do you guys think about their previous performances and also as AA machines? They both have similar turning/roll rates and both suffer from short range, and view outside the cockpit.
Mr Jabotinsky,
I say the F-5 is preferable.. why? along with more hard points and a larger payload, it also has very good range for such a baby sized fighter.. I mean seriously.. it’s range is something that the Gripen might not be able to match!
As for the single engine thing.. true single engine light fighters are nice..but you got to remember, the MiG-21 isn’t made with today’s engines ๐ since most MiG-21s are still using engines from that era not to mention the numerous crashes..I think i’d feel safer in the F-5.
As for the radome..the BIS looks like it has a larger one..
But if I was a poor ass nation or one that’s hurt.. I say using upgraded F-5s might be more preferable than upgraded MiG-21s, although the Bison sure does look good.
Have i blamed all the problems on Japan??? no! i’m just saying the asian countries have a certain fear and are suspicious of the intensions in Japanese policies and military might.
which you’re right, that’s why I said Japan should apologize
why must you keep repeating what i’ve said ๐
The mongols weren’t great armies they only deployed a tactic that was hard to fight with, do you really understand that they were nomads so they come and pillage, and leave before an army was raised to repel them… How long did it last??? well only until gangis kahn died!!!
and the manchus won only because a chinese general (Wu San Gui) let them through the gate at the boarder. The general rebelled against the ming dynasty…due to cival war his beautiful wife was taken by the rebles, so to spite the emporior he let the manchus in!
Thanks for proving my point missy, like I said.. the Mongols, Manchus and Japanese were smaller than the Chinese. And how did they manage to win? That’s right, because of the Chinese themselves, like how you stated a Chinese general allowed the Chinese in, and how the Chinese were so busy fighting themselves that other people took advantage such as Japan. Like I said, if you want to blame some one, blame it on the Chinese themselves for getting their own selves to be weak and overrun, it’s how almost every Chinese dynasty ended, and it’ll probably be that way for the rest of their history ๐
Money doesn’t buy everything hamburger dude. Japan is viewing its investments and loans as favours to other asian nations, while in actual fact it is not even a fraction of what they would have paid in war repatriations towards those nations for its atrocities and invasions during WWII.
oh stop crying you little girl. Although it’s true Japan should apologize, it is saddening that certain countries like to blame every single problem on their neighbors but not on themselves. Lest we not forget, throughout history the worst enemy China has ever had was the Chinese themselves.. how else would the numerically inferior Mongols, Jurchens, Manchus, Europeans and Japanese take over Chinese land?
not to mention that the one of the largest killers of Chinese in the 20th century was a Chinese himself, but I guess no one remembers the Great Leap Forward, since people are incapable of pointing the fingers at themselves eh? ๐
Bonus points if you can guess where I was at ๐
I would have to say booty camp ๐
As for my self
Kavelia, Russia (3-4 years)
Svalbard, Norway (back and forth 8-9 years about)
Vardo, Norway (1 year)
California, USA (3 years)
Barra da Tijuca, Brazil (2 years)
Beijing, China (1 month but it was living there)
Hawaii, USA (4 years)
Oslo, Norway (back and forth, about 4-5 years)
The Mig-29 makes sense for smaller countries that need a good multirole aircraft, but don’t need to fly around the world.
The Flanker is good for larger countries or countries with fewer population centres where airbases are less widely distributed. In other words a country like Germany or the Uk could do with Migs, while countries like Canada or Australia could use the extra range of the Flankers.
that’s all nice Garray but you still didn’t answer my question…
what does the B stand for?
the russian economy is growing the fastest for any 1st world country, and
Since when was Russia a 1st world country? I suggest you re-learn your cold-war era terms
For any place of permanent inhabitance, I require somewhere that is mountainous and has a coast, I’m not a fan of living in a landlocked city. I find much aesthetic pleasure in being able to look at the ocean and a mountain. This is something that could not be replicated by man. Also preferable if the place was winter like or had lots of greenery but I’ve lived in desert like environments before. Svalbard isn’t so bad, rather relaxing and peaceful indeed, despite coldness and some bickering between Norwegians and Russian enclaves.
Ideally, I prefer some of the smaller cities of Japan such as Fukui where there is much greenery, located near the coast, and has views of a mountain.
For an arid climate, I enjoyed Antalya in Turkey.
Places where I hate.. Chicago, flat boring city.. same for Moscow, Berlin, and Ankara.
LOL for 258mn, I’ll take some 6-7 Su-27SMs/-30MKIs for that much, or I’ll take some approx 2.5 F-15K/Ts.
have fun getting shot down ๐
At ease, F-18. I appreciate you standing up for me, but itยดs not really necessary. SwingKidยดs attempt to create an image of fighter pilots as a bunch of indifferent and cocky killers rather than professional officers wonยดt succeed.
jaja my venn!
BTW, the navy 2 seater was also the less capable :
– it had less internal fuel…so less range
– no internal gun
– it was the most expensive version
– it was not needeed for naval training purposes (the rafale M is very easy to fly and land on an aircraft carrier)
You also forgot that the Rafale BM was also pretty ugly ๐ก
Vortex: What’s your email? I tried to PM you something but yours is disabled
Serbia should get a couple of these..

they are perfect! they are Western origin, with western standards thus allowing Serbia a foot step into NATO, have internal weapons bay for stealth, are dirt cheap and could be quickly delivered, and most of all..it is so easy to fly that even Dubya could fly them! :dev2:
