To use the example of the Sturmovic, I garantee if the germans were able to employ AA flak guns over their battlefield, the IL-2 nuisence would quickly have been iradicated. Both the IL-2 and Su-39 are very effective against small arms damage-thats it, nothing more. And to say that the AMX is a light plane pretending to be a fighter is to ignore the fact that fighter is not its main role. As Flogger mentioned its in the same class as the Skyhawk, a light strike aircraft. Youll notice that the wings of the AMX are much larger and less swept than a normal fighter as its main role is to comfortably carry heavy loads at low level. So I have no doubt it could effectively carry a 4000 kg warload.

What kind of an aircraft is the Su-35 . What advantages does the 35 offered to Brazil have over the SU-30 MKI. Anyone have any specs?

I remember this Japanese guy named Croaboto said something about Su-35 being made in Knaapo and most Knaapo designs Su-3X have a re-inforced structure and square tipped fins, so it can carry a bit more and has slightly more gas.. so the Su-35 should have that advantage over the MKI which is made in a wonderful place called IAPO which is by the world’s largest fresh water lake and where workers are surrounded by cute chubby cheeked Mongol girls.

Radar should be same, Su-35 missing French and Israeli stuff.. I would have to say I like those Israeli EW, but the Russian MFDs they use now are so damn large, much larger than the French ones they use.
