Seven, all should be operational at any given time. Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey, Bashful and Doc.
Like I said, they are being trained by Italian and American insturctors…
Here is a picture of a new pilot being trained on the FT-5. These will be replaced by American T-38’s…
So flight training in an FT-5 qualifies an already elderly pilot as proficient on the F-7? In Albania perhaps, but not in the real world. Besides, both pilots look old enough to have learned flying in Hoxha’s years.
Here’s another link:

Still want to maintain Albanian pilots aren’t being trained in Italy?
I never said Albanian pilots weren’t trained in Italy, but then again: neither does this wonderfully bland article. Empty propaganda pur sang.
LOL… what serb propagadist told you that…
Hmmm… perhaps a Serb propagandist in the Albanian Ministry of Defense? Involved in finding methods of disposing surplus Albanian air force aircraft, including F-7s? “Delivered flying, if the pay is right.” Sorry if that crumbles your world view, but it wasn’t all that realistic to start with i’m sorry to inform you.
there are many F-7 pilots… even after many of them switched over to civlian jobs… for more pay… but more pilots are being trained by the US and Italy…
So according to you, the Albanian air force gives pilots an infinitite type rating? If you hear someone knocking on your door tonight, please open because it might be reality dropping by
But i do have to hand it to you Shqiponja: you certainly know to find the right people to pick a fight with here. At least your Serb soulmates have links to Venik to back their nonsense up with. Trust Steve to have found T-38 transfer requests to Albania if those existed…
And where is Albania training those MiG-21 pilots? Eighteen months ago, there was just one cleared to fly the F-7 and he happened to have a desk job…
And Albanian links will do. Especially if they aren’t Albanian-language forums like http://www.albforumi.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=13;t=000051;p=2 which copy incorrect data from non-Albanian websites like http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/waf/albania/mig-21.htm
I would suggest you to stop throwing unfounded remarks like ‘lying’ where it is YOU who is being asked for evidence. Your pathetic attempts of anti-Serb slander are perfectly valid of having your posts deleted.
Ah, one of those “sure-i-can-post-sources-but-i-don’t” types. Too bad my info about the Albanian AF isn’t coming from my beloved Serbian friends, but rather from a certain country which F-7s are looking pristine because they hardly ever are dragged out of their nicely naturally airconditioned mountain hangars… A bit closer i guess than linked-up pictures from a (rather nice, actually) Polish magazine. Besides, aren’t Poles a Slav brethren-people of those kind Serbs?
I’m sure the moderators can really appreciate Shqiponja’s behaviour. I can actually provide a source as to how he is expected to behave: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=27964
Perhaps you might convince someone if you quoted a source.
Perhaps if you tempered your nationalist ranting, you might convince a second person
Yeah, but i want ’em with the crosses…
Hey, i like that eagle-beaked JH-7. Theory time: JHZ-7 photo-Flounder?
Futhermore doing a 8 hours+ mission in a single seat cockpit will be increasing the risk of pilot fatigue induced crashes at least at day 3 of any conflict. You can´t eat, you can´t drink and you can´t pee in the FB-22. Flying global reach missions with it will be exhausting and nearly impossible in a large sclae conflicht, when you have to generate sorties.
You know that fighter adagium: “I feel the need… the need for SPEED!”… :diablo:
I would, however, be careful if i were a Canadian doing some gunnery training anywhere within those reaches of Global Power.
Several ex-GDR Su-22s were flying with WTD61 in Manching for evaluation and testing purposes. Much more interesting is the story about the sole Su-20 acquired via Egypt during the early 80s. This desert painted bird was kept as a top classified item during the next years to come and was thoroughly tested by the same Manching testing unit mainly in night flights to deter unwanted public.
There actually were two ex-Egyptian Su-20s, with bortkennzeichen 98+61 (now preserved at Berlin-Gatow, devoid of any markings) and 98+62 (now at Leeuwarden as ’56r’ with Soviet markings). Pics of those are welcome to this thread, i guess.
As for something completely different, here is a French Fw-190. Or better, an NC900 which is a French-built Fw-190A from components left behind by the Germans. Sabotaged parts made these aircraft rather unreliable, and of the 100+ built only 14 entered operational service with GC111/5, the Normandie-Niemen squadron of Great Patriotic War fame. Last flight of any NC900 was in 1949, so it does count as a post-WW2 type 😀
Albania’s F-7s are out of service for some two years or so, with IIRC only the Air Force commander still qualified. The F-5 and F-6s are their nominal operational force.
As for the upgrade: Seahawk is the one who makes sense.
They are not all that disrespectful. Pratt & Whitney honestly admit that their RD-180 rocket engine (boosting ATLAS space rockets) are of Russian design, rather than their own.
Silliest thing of all has to be the “US-“101 helo
Ah yes, those non-confirmed USAF-owned nuclear weapons across Europe. Somebody somewhere should start thinking about being consistent in secrecy. The following list of Munition Support Squadrons (the units that handle the weapons) was originally published as a recruiting tool about all interesting places you could get stationed 🙂
Still a handful of AJSF-37s with F21, and then it’s over… Very sad indeed, no matter how nice it is to see the VVS flag on a Viggen 😀
Cheers for that, apologies for boring you guys with my theories 😉
Comet – Brussels is definately a pretty one! But i hope you’re not taking it to the vet to have it ‘helped’? It looks a bit young for that.
