It’s not really smart to pull negative G’s with a conventional helo either, it wouldn’t be the first time that a helo chopped off it’s own tail. But that is a known and accepted fact for conventional helos, why would one expect the same restrictions on a coaxial rotor…
Haha Europe build a stealth fighter? Give me a break… Even Canada could build a stealth fighter before Europe. It is a known fact in both Canada and the US that Europeans don’t have the same worth ethic as we do, which is required to undertake such a project.

You can’t cite this Lampire as any proof, because it never made it past the drawing table. If you had at least flown a prototype of it then that would at least show some capability, but an airplane which existed only on paper is not proof of anything.
Full aerodynamic tests, radar cross-section tests, at least two mockups built… it definately went beyond the drawing stage.
Secondly if this German plane was so good, why did the Germans completely abandon it in favour of the Eurofighter? It doesn’t seem reasonable that a country would abandon a design unless there was something wrong with that design.
If you would bother to read up a bit on what’s been written on the Lampyridae (or Lampire if you find that easier to read) you’d know why it got cancelled. But as a Canadian i’m sure you’ll be able to tell us what was wrong with the CF-105. Why else would it have been cancelled?

Being able to fire ALARMs doesn’t make the F.3 a multirole combat jet – it got a specific secondary job next to it’s air-defense tasking, nothing more. While the 135mm rockets aren’t exactly hi-tech, at least those can be used against all sorts of ground targets. So the JA-37 is definately more versatile as a weapon than the F3 Tor.
The JA-37’s rocket pods don’t make it a multirole fighter, and the AJ-37’s capability to carry the AIM-9 don’t make it a multirole fighter.

Not sure about that, but the helo started cutting off it’s own blades when it was less than 100m above the ground. The general probably didn’t realise he had to step out before it was too late – appearantly it was still within the operating parameters of the seat.
REM is from the US – Athens, Georgia, in fact. Same town as where the B-52s come from (the band, not the bombers).
I think the Ka-50 lost a lot of points with the military after the crash which killed general Vorobyov. Just like the other crash of this type, the helo went down because the counter-rotating rotor blades actually hit each other thanks to negative G maneuvring.

If the nose is fiberglass it is definitely a radome that used to house some radar. Is this a PLAN Q-5 or what? The type can be used to fire AshMs.
Didn’t think it had a radar or even was made to have a radar fitted. The green nosecone was really rough-made and i seem to recall it was made out of one piece, straight down from the bulkhead. Also, the metal thingie on top of the nose (can’t see it on this pic) ran down quite a bit. To me it was obvious that this was the actual reason this Q-5 was given this droopnose, not some sort of radar trials.
Besides, the Q-5s which did recieve a radar had a totally different nose.
