I could actually pick out Slash because i didn’t recognise him. I actually can see a bit of face, i thought he was hair-only
The rest lost out the auditions for Spinal Tap and now play as session musicians for commercials and Britney, i guess.

Photoshopped – obviously.
And could you please resize pics? Not everyone browses through this forum, projecting the screen with a beamer on the opposite wall.
Nice pic Skythe… I presume those are salt pans, rather than patches of ice 😉
Back in the 1970s, PLAAF Q-5s wore really cool camo schemes.
The Q-5 with the ugly nose posted above was not the one with the radar fitted, by the way. That was this one, the Q-5B prototype:
Well… actually it does 😉
Here’s a nice pic of a Su-17M4 with four S-24 rockets
That container is the SPS-141MVG Gvodzika ECM pod, which is pretty common on Fitters. It’s a pretty hefty two (or more) band pod, appearantly one or two Fitters with such a pod should have been able to provide jamming for a whole strike package.
Here’s one with a nice chocolate/tan Su-22A (the Peruvian designation for their FITTER J’s) with a refuelling probe.
The internal weapons bay was discarded with the Q-5I already, it really saw very limited service. The modification for the early Fantans to get rid of the weapons bay was nice though: place a tank inside, and weld shut. And the Buccaneer, F-102, F-105 and F-106 had a bombbay too, also well before the F-22 😉
Flex,
Good thing, another Datang Shan-pic in this thread. The aircraft itself was actually designed from 1970, the aircraft on the pic (although the bort number is a bit doubtful) actually dropped a nuclear bomb on 7jan 1972.
Anyone thinking my new avatar is as great as i think it is, all compliments should be referred to PeeAnt.
😮
That’s one i’ve never seen before – awesome! Let’s see if that one works…. and thank you very much!
I know and tried that one, but it’s too low in contrast (except for the jetblast itself of course) to make a nice avatar IMHO. I should have a better pic somewhere though, i’ll have a look for it later. I guess it’s time for me to change my avatar anyway.
