They need bigger, more advanced missile that can carry pen-aid. Plus some sort of targeting system to keep track of carrier movement.

Then ? I think Military installations already built with EMP resistance in mind.

Well. The assumption is detonation would take place up and high. There would be fallout. but it won’t be as intense as when the nuclear weapon is detonated on the ground.

That’s unfortunate, but yeah. The cost might be too great given the uniqueness and small number of production for Barrakuda and Kondor. boat.

I recalled reading that it was 945 that supposedly to be “standard” Russian modern SSN. but well the 971 get ahead of it.

The inability of Syrian air defense to prevent those repeated intrusions kinda worries me.

Apparently the 885M is 10 meters shorter than the 885.

    http://izvestia.ru/news/680714

Roughly 129 m then, compared to 139 m of 885. So they cut 4 meter of living space. Does it mean that 885M will have less crew than 885 ?

Will Russia plan to have a new space based targeting network for AsHM as successor to Legenda ?

Thanks , Officially they say 350 but I think 500 km is what it should achieve , The land based bastion using same missile achieves a range of 450 km , I think if they trade of the warhead for fuel they should achieve higher range

Well.. i recalled scar said that it’s because the Fleet can only provide reliable target designation from that range.

Ground target and essentially non moving target is the whole other matter.

That 800 km range is in theory are plausible. Given high ISP or Ramjets, cruise speed and Lift to drag ratio attainable by the missile. Of course you can’t expect 4000-5000 sec of Isp from turbofan engine of subsonic missile but, Oniks have size to compensate.

Good to see some new birds.
Is it final that the radar is M2E? There was a rumor (?) earlier about the Egyptian MiG-29s to have a Zhuk-MSE based phased array radar unit.

I expect it would be the same Slotted planar array as Russian and Indian’s MiG’s.

Those Zhuk MF phased arrays have kinda sketchy fate despite the promising capability.

To my knowledge, the designation MiG-29M2 has been cancelled to avoid confusion and now it’s all just MiG-35..
BTW, the radar is Zhuk-M2E.. MSE would be Flanker sized..

yeah, you are correct 😡 the MiG-29 sized is Zhuk-ME and that M2E hahaha.

    MSE is flanker sized.

Congrats to MiG, the Egyptian contact is on!

And interestingly it has the nacelle EW installations, like the MiG-35. As well as the MAWS, LWS….so basically very close if not identical to the “new” revealed MiG-35.

    yaaaaaay… MiG 29M2 ? or MiG-35 ?

Can’t really call it 35 yet ;w; as it seems to still have the Zhuk MSE.

Likely a relative of the 9M82MV high altitude missile.

    This thing is massive O-O

im curious how the polarization is selected :3

Perhaps the radiating element is movable, and shaped as “I” slot, thus change of polarization from vertical to horizontal, can be accomplished by rotating the element. Or maybe more solid state solution by patch radiator with 2 ports, one for vertical and other one for horizontal.
