I cannot agree with that. Its simply not a fair comparison.
Lions hunt for sustenance. We humans, or the Japanese in this case, are hunting whales for luxury goods. We have also grown beyond the need to hunt due to farming of animals. There is a big difference.
Have you tried farming whales? There is no difference between farming and hunting, its exactly the same.
Hi everyone, i have just been thinking about the B1 and how much life left is in it, with all this talk of new bombers for the USAF lately i thought why not use the existing B1 airframe, re-engine it with some top of the range engines, basically soup it right up as far as the design can be pushed. Is it feasible?
IIRC Boeing has made such a proposal but I cant remember the details.
I would be amazed if that is not fan art, note the similarity in basic appearance to the Chinese 052C class.
[url]You don’t know a thing about the RuAF strategic bomber forces if you don’t know 45+ Bear G units were in service in 1998. That’s a source starting several have RETURNED to service, and also don’t pretend your sources are 100% credible – including that book, made from totally unclassified sources.
And like I said, I never claimed they were in active service, I’d love you to quote me on that, but I did say it’s possible there would be a bunch of them around still, likely at Engels at the decom facility.
The above proves that you are a liar. In post one you say that several have been returned to service, in post two you claim to have never said that any were in active servce.
Actually it does say a lot about most of those, but you clearly are too ignorant to actually try and understand / think through the information.
Flight hours? not relevant. (see crew proficiency)
Aircraft serviceability / airframe lives? Tu-22M3 bombers were made early 80s – early 90s. and with little flight time. that means their airframes are in pretty good shape, and with the money the airforce is getting now, they are mostly in good shape i’d bet (and the ones that aren’t might be in reserve)
Crew proficiency? the young pilots completed everything at 100% efficiency according to the report.
Congratulations you found the bold text function, but have said nothing, in fact you have made yourself look ridiculous (again) with this little gem: ‘Flight hours? not relevant’
Do you want to be taken seriously here?:p
I can’t agree with that. Just because man has the capacity to destroy every living thing on the planet doesn’t give us the right to.
What I actually meant was that these domestic animals reared today are solely for human consumption…..if man didn’t want to eat them they wouldn’t exist (wool, milk and eggs excepted of course).
Agreed, but my objection to killing whales isn’t based on morals. It is based solely on an utterly hypocritical, illogical and sentimental ‘gut reaction’ to this practice hence the abhorrence!
On moral grounds I’ve always found the argument that many ‘vegetarians’ use to justify eating fish strange. Yes, the fish have led a natural life of freedom up until the point they were caught but does that give us the right to kill them?
At least with domestic animals man has fed them, sheltered them, cured them of disease, protected them from (other) predators and so in exchange for all this, and giving them life in the first place, don’t we have more right to eat them than a wild animal.
(Why did this post vanish the first time I put it up?)
Human beings are hunters, we have exactly the same ‘right’ to hunt whales as Lions do to hunt Zebra, its exactly the same principle.

What drugs are you on?, proove it can’t, or are you on your ranting campains, because the “Patriots” have been PROOVEN to be a useless weapon in Desert Storm, which also would proove the U.S. lies in news, “ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, MSNMBC, CNBC, CNN, “HistoryChallen”) reports about how “Great” it was.
No that proves that that Patriot PAC-2 did work the way it was thought it would, not that the US lies. Now they have made THAAD and PAC-3.

IE7I used to get similar problems when I had a garbage ISP, because “Inactivity” meant they put your bandwidth to an “Actual” user. I thought this could be happening here, maybe not.
I belong to about 12 forums for various reasons, but this one is the only one which times out.
If you can try Firefox, its a free download and works for me, but that is the Mac-OS-X version so I dont know whether it will solve your problem………but it might be worth a try.

Only that in the case of Beef, Chicken, Goose, Turkey, Lamb and Pork these animals do, literally, owe us their lives.
No, personally I don’t give a tinker’s toss if it is sustainable or not. I find the killing of these beautiful creatures utterly abhorrent under almost any circumstances.
I thought there was no regulation, only a voluntary moratorium. Basically Japan (or anybody else) could kill as many whales as they liked without any ‘legal’ consequences.
Considering we are the dominant species on Earth with the potential to hunt to extinction whatever we want (something that would be far more ‘natural’ than conservation) they all owe us their lives. People seem to forget that human beings are animals too, omnivores that owe their intelligence partly to our ancestors hunting prowess.
Killing a whale is no different to sending a Chicken to slaughter, if you really want to be moral about it you could make the point that the Whale lives a far more pleasant life up until its death than any Animal produced through an agricultural system.
Hunting, killing and eating animals is not abhorrent but one of the most basic indicators of what makes humans human. Why people should try and distinguish between different species of human prey is utterly beyond me. After all do we not hunt fish?

What operating systems and web browsers do you use? I use Mac OS-X and when using Safari I have the same problems you mention. On the other hand, when I use Firefox it always remembers me.

People on this forum must have an IQ of less than 100, because information gets posted constantly, even if to Russian sources, people just don’t pay attention.
I am going to link a youtube video in Russian for the last time, which essentially shows what kind of training exercises / practice the Tu-22M/Tu-95/Tu-160 crews go through now.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxky4ku__K0
And this is year old news, with Putin ordering my strategical patrols, I wouldn’t be surprised if the flight crews are getting as much flying time as back in the day . .
Those people would be you, you and you.
As has been pointed out to you before all that video shows is a single exercise, it says nothing about flight hours, aircraft servicability, crew proficiency, airframe lives, etc etc etc
