    I see.

Well, you can surely at least let us known whereabouts in the country this school is so that we can castigate the local education authority for their folly?

I dont know whether it was the local educations authoritys fault of the Schools, however I will say that it was a rural area where ethnic minoritys really are minoritys.;)

Constitutionally speaking, you are quite right.

Realistically speaking, a vote on this type of issue is highly unlikely as a government that permitted and then lost such a vote (whichever way it went) would be effectively committing political suicide.

    Politicians don’t like risk……. 😎

That was what I was referring to when I mentioned the practicalities.

It may be unpleasant for you to have to repeatedly read you being called up on the fact you’re a bully, but that’s not my fault. You could change that by reforming.

It’s interesting that you said “some here may believe me to be an ‘arrogant unpleasant bullie'”, because I can’t remember the last time I was called one on any forum. Yet you freely admit that at least some people find your attitude offensive. Maybe they feel that way because you are arrogant, unpleasant and a bully.

But of course a bully will blame everyone else and make himself out to be the victim/misunderstood/misrepresented.

You are currently demonstrating yourself to be a far more unpleasant individual than I am as is once again shown by your last post which true to form was insulting and aggressive.

Ranting and raving? Haha, that’s a good one. More cheap tactics from yourself. Still I suppose if you argue with an idiot he’ll try and beat you with experience.

And you are still continuing to do your best to demonstrate your unpleasant credentials.

Really? Then what was he actually thinking about? I’m sure he didn’t mean Obama would do that, but he hasn’t actually suggested what he thinks realistically would happen under an Obama administration. Thus the entire statement was a waste of space. There are far too many “tomorrow so-and-so might get rid of X” nonsense comments on military forums. If people want to do that they should go form their own “unrealistic future for defence forum” and leave the rest of us to actually talk about what has a decent chance of happening.

As I’ve said, there’s no hard evidence Obama is going to decide to slash a crucial project like JSF.

What you actually mean is that you have no credible way to dismiss it other to throw more mud in the hope of distracting attention from yourself.

You can rant and rave all you like, your response to Ed was out of order, insulting and aggressive, all unprovoked and a demonstration of your character, as is the above post.

The idea that he would become president and decide he “didn’t want a military” as Ed put it is silly! Even suggesting that he would slash military spending at the cost of a crucial project like the JSF, which any president would see as crucial for the future, is daft.

Classic bully-tactics by you. You get caught short on your own arrogant behaviour and then say “no, YOU’RE the bully!” Indeed that’s what you’ve been doing all through this thread. Just parroting my comments when I’ve demonstrated what a jerk you’ve been.

    Polly want a cracker?

The first part, Ed was clearly making a light hearted comment hinting at something far more mild that may happen, you launched into an unprovoked and insulting attack on a respected poster becouse of it.

The second part, well that does not even warrant a response, it just shows what an aggressive, insulting and un-articulate individual you actually are.

I did say “at this rate”. Anyone who doesn’t have their head up their backsides can see that Clinton is currently clearly ahead and has been for a while. Obama is making her ride a lot easier. If he can pull off a come-back then kudos to him, but currently he’s his own worse enemy.

In any case, I have not seen any evidence that he would seriously upset the JSF programme. Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t pull troops out of Iraq, but that’s a different story.

Aggressive? You can talk. You are one of the most arrogant, unpleasant bullies on this forum I have come across. It’s time you took the log out of your own eye before you tell me about the speck in mine.

Your response to Edlaw was overtly aggressive and insulting for no reason whatsoever, you described his assertion that Obama becoming president as silly, which it quite clearly is not.

Whilst some here may believe me to be an ‘arrogant unpleasant bullie’ you have made it more than obvious with your response to Edlaw that the title applies at least as much to you and probably more so.

But UK hasent Ratified the Maastricth pact, has it?

But in those countries, where pariamental decission cannot be reversed, the fact remain, that there isent legimate form for leaving the union

Does not matter, if the UK parliament repealed the act it would be out.

Be careful, Jonesy, lawrence will start beating his chest and taunting you with “you’re wrong! you’re wrong!” because you’re not giving him any sources. 😉 😀

How do you intend to do that? Throwing money at it won’t necessarily work, nor do you know how much money it would require to get access to a properly-working EMALS in 2014. That’s also assuming the Americans would allow us to dictate the progress of the project.

Ed, that is such a daft comment I don’t know where to begin. Obama is not a pacifist and he won’t get the Democrat nomination anyway at this rate.

Things could go wrong, but it could be the C-variant that sees costs escalate or technical problems delay its entry. The only non-JSF options would be Rafale or a navalised Eurofighter (both of which would be more expensive). If JSF failed then it would happen before the carriers were completed and give time to change their configuration.

If you knew anything about the course of US politics you would know that it is far from certain that Obama wont win the democratic nomination.

I can not believe that you just posted such an aggressive response to someone as respected here as Edlaw. You have made it obvious that you are utterly unable to civilized to anybody with that unprovoked assault, one which ironically further reveals your incredible ignorance of what you try and discuss.

Furthermore and unlike you, Jonesey (along with the likes of Edlaw and swerve) is a respected member who is a reliable source of information, something you could never aspire to be. And whilst I disagree with him on this issue (especially on the precise point of sortie rates) he is capable of talking in specifics and putting across well constructed arguments, you on the other hand are only capable of vague unsupported generalisations that you quickly flip flop over. The two of you are simply not in the same class.

If 2015 is correct, it would delay completion of the first carrier (which would delay completion of the second) by a couple of years, or more if EMALS is late.

That makes the assumption that the carriers themselves wont be delayed. Either way as the French are very aptly showing EMALS is far from the only choice.

…Funny enough, at least in paper, each country had a legistrative right to quit from Soviet Union, but there’s no such code in EU…

In the UK at least that is not the case, the UK is an EU member by an act of parliament, the repealing of that act of parliament would result in the UK exiting the EU. Of course the practicalities of that are somewhat obstructive though.

Come on, you’re not normally this reticent.

Name and shame, so that we can express our opinions on this stupidity directly to those responsible. :diablo:

I am a big fan of anonimity, especially on the rare occasions I can spell it properly.;)
