I must admit the refusal to hold a referendum over the new EU treaty is disgusting. The logic that there was not one for the Maastricht treaty, therefore this one does not need one is insane, thats like saying ‘I stabbed you once, so its perfectly ok I stab you again’. I might prefer C, but B is still a fair option. If you bothered to read the rest of Richard’s article you’ll see there was never any clear consensus what was better.

The price for the USN when the comment was written. Richard cannot predict the future and know when the RN could get it, at what price, etc. He said no earlier than 2015 – doesn’t mean that date could be pushed backwards.
