The Mig-29K is a very good choice of aircraft, it is very capable to start with but the work done to create the Mig-35 gives it significant upgrade potential with Zhuk-A, OLS-35, TVC etc. However the choice of carrier does not seem quite so sensible. The Gorshkov is a 20 year old carrier that has spent half its life tied up and rusting in a paticuarly harsh environment. It seems like it is effectively being rebuilt for the IN. Surely the Italians could have built the Indians a STOBAR carrier from which the Migs could fly. That way the Indians could have ToT, and a brand new carrier with a longer life span and lower operating costs.
and who told you that it was not functional ? An Indian scribe got a test flight on board the MiG-35 and was shown the radar modes and it was operating..the entire flight was described by him on Bharat-Rakshak.
the MiG-35 as seen at AI-07 did not feature TVC nozzles and that was about it..most of the other things it featured would be on the production MiG-35 as well (assuming there will be a production MiG-35)..although the customer may request for modification or replacement of some avionics or the radar.
as for the MiG-29K/KUB, its a jet that’ll be more than a handful to pretty much every in-service fighter today in Asia and pretty much every fighter foreseen for at least a decade in the subcontinent.
The TVC seems to be being presented as an option rather than a standard for the Mig-35.
This seems to be an oportune time to ask about the Tallboy and Grandslam on the HP Victor, is it true the Victor could carry these weapons?
No pithy quips about the Master Race, o Lord? Run right out of quotes, eh?
Yawn, same old same old.
I have already pointed out the relevance, if you cant stand it or disagree- dont take part in the discussion. After all – I am sure you have better things to do with your time, including fantasising about the Master Race etc!
The rest of us mere mortals “Lord”, will deem fit to discuss what we see fit.
Here we go again.
My lawd, what spin!!
In fact, it makes utter sense, to keep in mind that project management is NEVER perfect and that even the most professional of services worldwide frequently fall prey to requirements creep and cost escalations.
Once again, Nobody here disputed that other organisations suffer from such issues so what is the point in presenting them?
It indeed is. But what could put a cost escalation of (say) $ 113 Million in context by showing how the RN, USN, FN or whatever N have never had such issues to deal with? Makes perfect sense. In fact- I shall get to it forthwith.
I never saw anybody disputing that other navys have cost overruns, however this thread is about the Indian Navy. Diluting it by comparing the rather unique Gorshkov aquisition with other very different programmes gets knowbody anywhere.
Sure sonny, being called “The Master Race” sure makes one feel nice, hmm?
Irrespective of how you spin, your boorish behaviour has not gone unnoticed. Keep it up.
Well thankyou, I appreciate that you pay attention to me!:D
Dont be a fool, the churlishness of your comments speaks for itself. The statement you made was asinine and imputing motives to others, including calling them a master race is not going to go down well with anyone concerned. Godwins law is best left off this board.
You should loosen your collar a bit it would let some of the heat out!:D
Why do we need to look at the RN? I was under the impression that this thread was about the Indian Navy?:p
Enough bull sh!t already.
Look who cant take a joke.:D
I think it’s kind of hard to say right now since we don’t know exactly how Mig-35 is going to turn out and it is frankly looking better the more we know about it. Same with J-10, they have a lot of upgrade programs going for it, although it’s not well known on English website.
Thanks for more or less repeating what I said.
There is no real MiG-35 around, just a prototypes as look a likes.
I was refering to the current aircraft that is flying around and being offered to India. what would you call it?
I don’t see any reason why star should be banned.
You obviously have not spent your 3 months membership here reading his posts then.
Nothing at all!;)
I suppose I will have to click the report to MODS button again!
Star49 if you want to talk about the economics of Russian arms sales why don’t you open a new thread rather than hijacking the Chinese equipment threads…its getting annoying dude!
It amazes me that Star has not been banned, he manages to trash every thread he enters and frankly talks nothing but rubbish.
