None of the current permanent members will allow any new permanent members to have the power of veto-period. The secretary general as well as other key groups and people with in the UN are also opposed to the extension of the power of veto. Its not going to happen.
Have you seen the time table for the new carriers FAR? the JSF should be ready with plenty of time.
Rafale is catapult launched.
None of the current five permanent members want or will allow any new veto powers.
It has supposedly been studied to fit the Astutes with four Trident type tubes to allow them to carry the Tomahawk VLS version but I doubt anything will come of it.
The last time I checked both countries have the right to defend themselves and that requires buying weapons, just becouse a country is poor it dosnt mean they dont have issues with their neighbours. Russia is supplying a want they arnt forcing Ethiopia and Eritrea to buy arms.
Sounds goog for the Russians, Particuarly Mig. The most interesting thing for me is the Eritrean Mig-29SMT’s I wonder whether they are SMT1’s or SMT2’s. Either way the Eritreans are doing their best at keeping good planes in their airfoce, from what I can make out they have 14 Mig-29s and 6 Su-27s. I wonder what ethiopia is doing to keep up?
thanks Wanshan and Steve.
Combined with the four 052s and soon to be four Sovremennys the chinese are aquiring quite a powerfull destroyer fleet!!!
Steve, do you know which APC that is?
Pointless thread by someone with an obvious agenda. Its hard enough to get info on the ships the chinese have now let alone the ones they will have in ten years time.
The max loadout is said to be 48 JSFs, remember that these ships are intended to carry alot more store as well as they are desighned for offensive operations from the start, and the JSF is a bigger more complax aircraft.
I think they died sometime around 2003 when a certain middle eastern country was invaded.
I not sure that Greece would neccesarily need Horizons to fire Aster-30, If I remember correctly the FREMM boats will have the Herakles radar which should be able to use ASTER-30 but I may be wrong. It may be better for Greec to get a larger number of FREMMs than it is to get the Horizons as well, but if they do want a true AAW destroyer they wold be best to go all the way and get the T-45.
There was a Rumour that one of the Swiftsure class boats still has the marks on her Hull where she ran into the propeller or s Soviet Sub, and I have heard a number stories of British subs tracking soviet subs, some from television programmes.
