Yeah they are just parts of the structure and despite what some people claim they are not 052C type radar panels.
The Argentine Naval air arm always believed that it sank Invincible, on one of their hanger doors at their air base they list Invincible as half a kill, ie-unconfirmed. But the reality is that no british carrier was lost in the falklands.
matt-get a grip.
Its a bit like saying Britain is the dominant naval power in the Irish sea area.
Not the Akula thing again, its gettig realy boring now, its like the whole china buying the Ukraina thing. Il believe it when there is actually an Akula in Indian service.
Who else is there in the Indian Ocean region?
A very nice site, it goes someway towards making up for the loss of the warships1 database.
I think that the gun is a very good idea, the sub could be used as an invisible picket for surface ships and carry out stealthy patrols against the like of smugglers and illegal fishing aswell as pirates. Not the roles a sub is desighned for but none the less interesting ideas and an added capability.
I think your right neptune, that will teach me to jump the gun!!! 😮 😮 😮 😮 😮 😮 😮 😮 😮
525 and 526 are the only 2 054s that we know of, both of them were built inside. werent they?
Just a quick note, A picture has been posted at the Chinese Military Forum that appears to show a new 054 frigate underconstruction. Although it is only one photo I believe it to be real becouse It is being built in the open (525 and 526 having been built in a shed) and it would be nearly impossible to PS.
I dont have time to post it but I hope someone will, it looks like yet another new ship for the PLAN!!!!
But AIP is an upgrade to the scorpene, and its not an urgent requirement for the IN. Again, which has the best sensor suite and which is the quietest when running on diesels.
I would hate to have to make this decision, I mean it is not just about the raw performances listed in the Articles above, when it comes to submarines one has to take into account the noise each makes aswell as the relative sensor and communications fits. But I envy the IN for being in position to be able to choose.
I have some limited dimentional data in some notes I made a very long time ago so I will not garuntee its accuracy but here it is.
Length 172 metres
Beam 17.8 metres
I hope that helps, if you do succeed in your scale drawing please post it here I would love to see it.
So how many are supporting your position?
Noerper I have not been “shown up” as you put it (most certainly not by you) SOC has corrected a piece of information I had, something for which I am gratefull, afterall is part of this forum not about sharing information?
Evidence has been provided for you by several posters about the existance of the S-400 system but you have failed to disprove it. your childish anti-russian rants do not count as evidence. :p
