Don’t forget our colonial cousins “Down Under”. They have some very rare types including a BA Eagle, racing Moth, Proctors and the like. You might need to do some research as both Oz and NZ are big countries.
I looked for that but the Search function directed me here!
Old thread I know but it was good to see G-FLYP at Abingdon yesterday. I had hoped it might do a flyby but it stayed in the visitors park all day.
Thanks TO. It seems to confirm the story but not the follow up. I’m still intrigued as to why the UK would ship the Swifts out there. Surely there must have been some scrap airframes nearer at hand in the Far East Air Force perhaps?
Glatton is the present day Peterborough Conington I think.
And yet 15 miles West of Duxford we haven’t had a drop (of rain).
As they have just completed an overhaul of the roof of the Land Warfare Hall I would be surprised to see it closed.

I hope he’s got hull insurance. I know of one or two warbird owners who take the risk themselves against the £30-40K premium that a Spitfire or Hurricane might command. Third party is of course compulsory.

But would they do it twice in a short space of time? I wouldn’t be keen if it was my aircraft.

How would they get it here if indeed it does come? Surely they wouldn’t risk flying it, so how easily would it break down for shipment I wonder?
