A kamikaze pilot flying a Mig-19 loaded with chemical/biological bombs, assuming he could break through the ROK’s air defense.
As for Japan, Japan is out of North Korea’s reach except for ballistic missiles.
The PLA would be the primary combatant should they decide to join the war as the North Korean military would be disintegrated within a week, just like the last time.
But each passing day it is less likely that the PLA would enter the war, largely due to the PLA’s increasing confidence that could tolerate the US air bases along the Yalu river where the US stealth jets could reach Beijing in 30 minutes.
The departed ROK president hinted that there was an ongoing negotiation between Seoul and Beijing under what terms China would abandon the Kim Regime and not intervene so that the ROK could finish the war in a short time of two weeks or less. The first Chinese demand is that the ROK not allow US bases above the DMZ in the post-war era, only the ROK troops deployed in former North Korea. Beijing used to demand the removal of US bases below the DMZ but they appear to have dropped this demand.
what would Russia’s position be during this? they have a 17km border. actually Russia seems to be siding against NK.. if something happens it would be a good time for Russia to take back Rason from NK.
Could you give us a late 1960’s, early 1970’s British fighter design comparable to the Mirage F1?
And the Jaguar is as much French as it is British…..
i said aircraft of the same role and era. unfortunately no role/era comparable in late 60s early 70s from the British side.
They seem to be comperable in most areas………..did either excell at an area over the other?
in general, between aircraft of the same role and same era..
the British designs > French designs.
but the Frenchies sure look better.
Me too … it was that first CG-manupulated J-20 image … but now more !
Deinosaur, i can’t tell. is that an external pylon attached near the bay, or an internal pylon bay extended out?
You are going to have to back this statement up pal.
su-30s simply have a wider user base and has been in service longer with users familiar having more experience sorting out whatever issues. its a better and less riskier choice.
su-30 can also be upgraded to pak-fa with enough experience points.
yes…
anyway none of that will happen until they resolve this…

they trying to buy every thing to appease all sides? what an expensive way to do it.
I know countries like Malaysia and Peru are willing to spend more money on logistics to decrease reliance on a major supplier for major combat aircraft but they usually just select two (US and Russia) and (US and France) respectively.
But three types.. that’s like IAF crazy.
Modern jet fighters and cars are ugly.
They lack the right kind of curves and angles to be sexy.
Mirage III – now there’s a sexy bird.
not as sexy as the modern M2k
F-35 and F-22 are as sexy as 160 kilogram hairy women with moustaches in g-strings.
if the F-22 is a women with a moustache in g-string..
does that mean the J-20 is a woman with a beard in a g-string?
I mentioned somewhere in the masses of blurb that in the mess that is iraqi acquisition the air force commander revealed that they are in advanced negotiations for a european fighter… in addition to all the other stuff they’re planning on getting…
european, american, and russian?
typical propaganda.
Both side probably have been doing this for quite sometime one but Japan has decided to make a fuss out of the issue.
What’s interesting is where the incident took place. JMSDF has been shadowing PLAN in international waters. At 3km distance between each other, I don’t think a C-802 is going to be needed.
What you really want to ask is why are the japanese JMSDF shadowing the PLAN?
Is it provocation?
lol stop changing the subject. shadowing is one thing illuminating the other with radar is another
MiG29M offers the following advantages over the F16 for Iraq.
1- rapid delivery schedule
2- R77 AAMs vs Sparrows
3- can be used against countries the US doesn’t allow Iraq to use the F16s againstF16s are destined to become dedicated attack aircraft from what’s been happening and the Iraqi configuration (as stated earlier).
it doesn’t matter because Iraq is getting the F-16s anyways.
Also Su-30 will do all those things the MiG-29M can do, but better.
only the rapid delivery schedule could be a problem.
Actually tornado has a total of 11 hardpoints — 4 on wings, 3 heavy duty on fuselage, 4 for lighter payloads on fuselage, or so the internet says.
And JH-7A is bigger, but from open sources on the internet they appear to have similar MTOWs and effective payloads…
I’m not antichinese at all, you should check some of my post history. You, however have been making very inelegant jingoistic rants… well it’s a breath of fresh air in a way. Most people here have some ulterior motives for arguing in favour for their own nation, at least you’re being ridiculously forthright about it.
so in other words, bigger but less efficient.
Regarding Su-30 and Israeli parts, the Malaysians had similar reservations, hence the Su-30MKM. Of course by now there is the (almost) fully Russian Su-30SM , so that would not be a problem.
Irkut can make Su-30s pretty fast too, probably a decent batch could be ready 1.5 years after contract is signed.
hm indeed, an MKM or MKA variant for Iraq makes good sense.. especially since IAPO is not getting as much love as KNAAPO these days..
a MiG-29, Su-30, F-16 mix is not sensible either. ideally they should just stick to the Su-30. but we know the US will shove down the F-16 regardless, down their throats.
No to MiG-29, it doesn’t offer anything radically different than the F-16 while the Su-30 provides range and payload the other two can’t.
As for Mi-28 being selected.. its not surprising.. the Iraqi’s probably got discouraged from Apaches after seeing how farmers can shoot one down.
How much more expensive is Mig-31 to run than acquiring brand new Su-30s that would need modification to replace them? And even that, it has nothing like the MIG-31s high speed endurance.
RuAF kept MiG-31s in service while withdrawing cheaper types for a reason.
not a question if the Miggy has better performance than the Su-30 in some areas.. because it certainly does..
but if whether that difference is justified. After all the Tom Cruise’s Tomcat is certainly a superior performer than your Super Hornet, but the Shornet seems to still be able to do the job with a lower operation and maintainance cost.
Certain flanker variants like the Su-35 seems to also have good high speed capabilities and I doubt the Pak-fa is intended to mimic all of the MiG-31’s performance parameters, yet it will replace it. There are different ways to accomplish the same job.
However its all moot and maybe you are right.. if there’s enough time left in the airframe and the upgrades are reasonable in cost.. its good enough to keep and last until Pak-fa replaces it rather than going for a new Flanker outright..
Buy new aircraft that are worse at the job rather than upgrading already existing birds?
Terrible idea.
its not which aircraft has the best performance but if the other one can do it and do it cheaper.
MiG-31s are expensive to run compared to the Su-30 and theoretically if those brochures are rough, the Su-30 has provision to carry R-33 and data link. then there are the next generation of missiles.
