The logic of “progressive” learning processes is to free the pupil from petty worry on detail, which hinders expression, individuality, thus confidence. Spelling evolves with fashion – all Latin-derived languages are dog-grovelling easy cop-outs from the discipline of the original. But now Italian, for example, is a wholly legitimate means of communication and expression. Ditto, English, mongrel-derived from many tongues, an illiterate iteration of Teuton speech.

GB Shaw (like so many fine English wordsmiths: Irish) endorsed a phonetic simplification, which he felt would make books approachable, User-friendly. We are in practice evolving – see how remote some of the conversations are in period drama. What matters is not precision in grammar and spelling, but ability to communicate without confusion, misunderstanding.

    Well said Sir.

Barchi rulez.. Mine is in deep blue but only after you wipe away the three cms of dust 😉 Must be probably the dirtiest car on European streets..

The Porsche Boxster comes next year. And yeah, don’t tell me that the only Porsche is the Carrera, heard it enough times but I simply don’t like the 911, kill me for that.

I kill you! I still miss mine. Mind you the car I have now certainly gives the 911 a hard time.:diablo:

Depends what trains you are into I guess, for steam trains Mid Hants Railway is very good. Wales has the Talyllyn Railway also steam. Also worth a visit if in the area Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
