Just remember what happened last time when an even more interesting Roman jet was to visit the RIAT… That H-5 surely was beautiful in that blue paintscheme, too bad it crashed three days before it would have made the hop to the UK.

Good for me it crashed two days after i saw it at Otopeni though :p

Art , do you have any photos of the H-5 pre and post the accident ??, I can vaguely bemember seeing photos of her – what looked like her being repaired , port outer wing missing and parts of the canopy missing too , anybody have any photos of her in the blue colour scheme at all ??

Always fancied a Mk3 3.0S in silver so I could drive around pretending to be Bodie from The Proffesionals ( Sad arn’t I πŸ˜€ ).

AAAGGGHHHHH , My mate had a really nice silver MK3 3. with a black vinyl roof , automatic gearbox etc , never seen John for years – bumped into him recently and I mentioned some of his cars ( he was a mechanic ) and I had missed the car by 3 days – after all these years I missed the darn thing by 3 days after the scrappy leveled the whole lot . Capri , a two door mk5 Cortina with a 2.3 lit engine , a coupe Granada – the whole lot of them. πŸ™

    Hughes XF-11 Daz.

    😎

Looks like a serious tool !! , did Hughes just build that as a personal project or was he under a military contract
, I see the DVD pirates are selling copies already , filn isn’t even in the cinemas and they are ripping it off already .

Daz – checkout Ingliston at the weekend , the same pikeys from Bathgate market will be out at Ingliston – they even had it playing it on a huge plasma monitor. Be nice to see them getting lifted by the police last week , the police were too busy shoving pikeys into the van to notice the shoppers looting the stalls .By the time they did get back to the stalls there was a fraction of the stalk left behind πŸ™‚

I highly rate these chaps . They have an online business too , it’s called Hamish McTavishs cartridges or summat like that . Save loads by purchasing in 10 at a time , 10 cartridges for the price of Β£3-Β£4 brand name cartridges.

You cant beat a Mk1 Lotus Ford Cortina – beautiful from every angle.

I agree , with the Lotus Sunbeam a close second , and the Ford RS3100 Capri bringing up the rear !!!!

    Alastair,

You really need a car that fits on your drive…..
Looks in very good condition though.

Tis in good nick , she belonged to East Renfrewshire Council and came with a full service history , she has been pampered and garaged all her life , she lives in the shed next to my Grey Fergies and I use an old Ford Escort for bumbling around in . A really nice car and I paid Β£500 for her , I thought it was a bargain !!

A colleague of mine has a Chimaera, he’s just spent Β£5,000 having the engine rebuilt.

Believe me , thats a cheap job !! , one of my friends older TVRs blew the motor twice , both times it was a rod through the side of the block , obviously unrebuildable and he had to shell out hard cash for two brand new engines , superb cars to drive – they go very well , but they do need constant attention to avoid mechanical mayhem , and even if you do keep on top of it maintenancewise – they can still give you a nasty surprise .

TVR’s !!! Great cars for the money, pity you loose what ever you saved over the other types in running repairs to keep them going.

VERY true Ian , the one I posted earlier is a very low mileage car – mainly as it is never out of the garage – 3 clutches in less than 7000 miles , but definately the meanest sounding car around !!! ( except the noise it made when a conrod tried to escape by jumping through the side of the block )

It’s no good Melv. Even with an upside-down Stratβ„’ you STILL don’t look like Hendrix.

Melvin hiscock with an upside down strap on – is this a bit of the Kama Sutra I missed ???? πŸ™‚
