RE: how fast have you personally been
Good point Frank, I was flat out on a borrowed Ducati 996 Monoposto and saw brake lights in the distance , it was’nt till I got closer I realised it was two lorries side by side , option 1 – gun it down the hard shoulder , but thats just asking for a puncture , option 2 -between the lorries ,too close together, so the only option was ride up the drivers side of the right hand lorry. It was tanking it down with rain so braking was’nt an option , I was so ##### scared I did’nt even look at the speedo , I pulled in at the next services just to try and stop shaking
If anybody fancies doing their motorcycling licence – don’t – crack cocaine is cheaper and less harmful.

RE: Airshow Irritations!
Hey Moggy that’s not fair , I can’t navigate over water – I can only follow roads and railways !!!! , maybe we could organise an unofficial visit to East Fortune with as many Scots as possible and include all types , weightshifts , three axis , SEP , choppers ……………anything that flies.

RE: Airshow Irritations!
Der , I’m also up north of the border and it’s a bloody shame that we cant attract more shows up here – even some decent fly-in’s.A good idea is to see if we could generate enough interest in a lecture night with KeithMac
RE: What Music Are You Listening To Now?
Puddle of Mudd – she ##### hates me , good tune , great video – bet that doesn’t get through the Forum censors,

Keith McKenzie
As this is Uncle Keiths 40th anniversary of firing up his first aeroengine I vote that he should post a photo of himself then and now !!! at least if we all make it East Fortune we know who to look for , come on Keith !!!!
Keith Mc K
Excellent Keith , big respect , if this was your first time firing an engine up and you were a boy entrant that means you are only 56 years old , far too young to retire why are you not the curator at East Fortune !!!!!!!
RE: how fast have you personally been
Bullet trains definately count , it takes balls travelling on a train these days , with their track record ( no pun intended )

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-01-03 AT 09:18 PM (GMT)]280 kph in a Ferrari 355 F1 GTS on the M8 between the Shotts and Newhouse turnoffs , 270 kph on a Yamaha OWO1 on the same stretch of road and ALMOST 200MPH on a Hayabusa – slowed down to go into Harthill services and realised I still had a gear left so I have NO doubt that the Hayabusa will hit 200MPH , especially as that stretch of road is a long downwards hill. None of the above vehicles belong to me , the Ferrari belongs to a famous Scottish racing driver , the OWO1 and Hayabusa belong to a friend , I have a lowly YZF750SP , good fun but getting elderly now.
Highly irresponsible , I know but on all occasions it was 02:00 , dry roads and well serviced vehicles , and if anybody is interested there is never any police on that stretch of road as the North Lanarkshire/West Lothian boundary divides that section of motorway

RE: So, what will be the must see shows next year?
If anybody is coming up to East Fortune then take the chance to nip over and see Gordon Douglas at East of Scotland Microlights ( on the western extension ) and get the chance to see all the dispersals , runways , admin buildings etc from the air , like Merlin says almost all of the old wartime buildings remain there.
