Me? How the hell did I get such a bad reputation? I’m a calm married father whose usual drinking buddies of late are octogenarians.

Erm , ‘cos there are two photo’s of you on previous threads , and you look like a baldy psycho who would wrestle with Grizzly Bears naked in a jaggy bush
::D

I love the smell of Napalm in the morning 😀

Sorry to change topic here but are we going to include aviation in this weekend get together ?? , or is it just an excuse to leave the wife for the weekend ??. What about arranging something around the Easter period , and have a day out at YAM some other time ( a day trip maybe )

so is it true about the deep fried mars bars/ pizzas/ hamsters that are a staple post pub treat?!!! :p

Deep fried , battered Mars Bars ROCK !! 😀 , loads of salt and sauce , a £1.20 bag of chips , 2 pickles and 2 pickled eggs !!! , or two deepfried Mars Bars on a bread roll !! . You wake up next day looking like Mr Cadbury stuck a chocolate grenade up your nose (and your turds smell strange 😮 )

Nice enough chap but I do wish he wouldn’t bark at every moving object we past during our short trip together.

I have already started to stock pile King Edwards and hair spray, remind me is it York or Paris we’re heading for?

And I’m off to the Garden Centre for a bag of Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer , a bag of BBQ Charcoal and a greenhouse Sulphur fumigator – for my Tomato plant , naturally , what else would I be doing officer ?? 😀

We have a 6 berth caravan on the Gilsland site in North Berwick , and I know of plenty others who rent theirs out VERY cheaply , just think , aircraft all day , a barbeque , Highland Park , Tennants Special , fireworks , ladies , gas canisters , police cars , ” how the fcuk do I explain this to the wife ” , DEFINATELY sounds like a plan !!!!!!!:D

Elvington doesnt sounds bad… somewhere else I’ve not been..

perhaps it may be easier to set up some informal local meet-ups as well as a ‘biggie’ ??

for instance, if anyone is over this way to visit East Kirkby or Coningsby then they’re welcome to send me a message and I’ll meet them for cuppa tea.. assuming that I’m here and not at work down south..

Neil.

Hey !! , we don’t drink that fizzy pale stuff you call lager , and we don’t drink that flat fart inducing stuff you call “bitter ” 🙂 , Tennants Special or Belhaven Best – those are real beers 😀 .
Anyway , who’s drinking beers when there are loads of lovely malts to sample , you only need a couple of beers to slake your drought – then it’s time for an Aberlour or Highland Park ……..
We wouldn’t dream of heading South to sack any lovely old English towns , but if you can get a mob together maybe we could join up and sack Paris !!
😀

Can you imagine Snapper , Ian , yourself , Steve Young, KeithMac et al roaming North Berwick on a Saturday night !!!! 😀
” I’m sorry officer , I did’nt think it would burn so fast ” , as the caravan park burns ……………………………:D

I was looking forward to the EF meet-up too , sounded great then it fell through when Dawn left . I did meet up with Keith at the EF Airshow , very interesting , I listened to Keith explaining the Griffon supercharger to the guy who was restoring it , and we met an ex-Vulcan pilot , the stories were superb , we ended up with three of us standing on the roof of my car watching the airshow – brilliant day out.

Sorry to diverse here , but , would anybody be interested in travelling to the Yorkshire Air Museum , the North East Museum at Newcastle or the Dumfries and Galloway Museum ???. I mean like planning this next year sometime ??? , there are a few of us Scots up here who would like to put some names to faces – I know that Keith Mac organised a ” Workshop Weekend” at East Fortune – we were supposed to get access to the Vulcan for some hands on work – unfortunately the management reshuffle at EF threw this up in the air , if anybody is interested I will attempt to organise something – or even better – ask Keith Mac if he could organise something at EF . I think it would be pretty interesting doing a workshop weekend with Keith , ( visions of Steve Young let loose on the Beau !!) , North Berwick is only a couple of miles away and there plenty of B+B’s , Hotels etc for accomodation and I’m sure I could find somebody to house Moggy’s steed for the weekend !. And there is the bonus of having some nice pubs in North Berwick to parch a dry throat after a hard days work
Or , easier , a day trip to YAM – that way it’s a bit more central for everybody – then we all have a boring driving to do.
Anybody else have any ideas ??

Do any of you guys fly over Edinburgh / East Lothian area regular and either have a good digital camera or would be willing to take me up sometime. I know this is a little cheeky of me to ask on the forum like this but I am trying to get aerial photos of some local airfields and crash sites which may be visable through a photograph from the air.

If you can help please email me on esar3945@hotmail.com

Thanks for your attention.

Scott , I am round about your area pretty frequently , I was in the Blue / Yellow Micro which flew over your Club’s strip last Sunday about 15:00 , if you want aerial shots I can arrange it ok , I may be able to arrange a flight for you , I will be over at North Berwick this weekend moving our caravan and will nip up and see who’s about .

Good call . As a Scotsman – Braveheart is good as a fictional film – fact it ain’t , if you look at the timescale and the characters in the film some of them would have to have been about 150yrs old to meet each other , ie have a serious look at the ages of Robert the Bruce and William Wallace .
Braveheart is a fictional story based on a factual figure from Scots history , made in Ireland with an Aussie as the lead character , with an English production company and US financial backing !!!!.
