Think it was about 2000 when i went , but there was no manned tower /clubhouse as such , just a static caravan that looked like it was used for the odd cuppa etc.
Likewise , not much in the way of ground services , including security i have to say ! as i had a good look round and there was no activity on the field at all whist i was there.
The place looked sadly under-utilised as the area is quite beautiful around the site , and it was saddening.
Nevertheless you have to be practical and i did’nt want to risk stopping there with so few facilities/ security/fellow aviators !
Did think at the time that a fly-in would’nt hurt , to try to generate some interest in the field before it falls into total dis-use and no doubt development into a housing estate !

Thanks mate , I heard that it was Jamie Whitham’s ( ex BSB , WSB Racer) dad who owned the place , we were considering a trip down – furthest South we’ve been in a Micro is Eshott !! .
