Very nice wee bikes , have you seen the Moto Morini 500 V-Twins , some of these look good and they are advertised in Classic Bike fairly regularly – I was just wondering if anybody has had a blast on one of these ?? , the wee cafe racer ones look good . A good Sunday bike ??

My dad had a Ducati which looked very similar to yours , I seem to remember that his was a 360cc ???

Firstly , Macky42 , Wow an FS1E , I would love to purchase one of them again – remember the ones in the Kenny Roberts colours – black and yellow , I would love to buy any of the YPVS machines , maybe an RD250YPVS – ahhh the smell of burning 2-stroke oil.
And Brad , I admit to speeding on motorway in the past – I bet most people who own bikes will at least try once to see what the max speed is , I work backshift , so when I finish work it is dark and the Motorway is deserted , I have seen 180 mph on the clock of a borrowed Hayabusa – on the M8 at 03:00 . I don’t condone this type of thing , I only do it as I cross the boundary between West Lothian and Strathclyde and both police forces only go as far as the nearest roundabout then turn and patrol the other way , so the stretch of road between Newhouse and Harthill is always empty – if I do see car headlights I slow to a legal pace.
The Ducati trellis frame doe’s look very antiquated , but it has the advantage of being very light , even the engine is a stress bearing part of the structure , it also makes everything on the bike easily accessible .
A 600cc bike is a good starter , my first decent bike was a Kawasaki ZZR600 , I loved that bike – it was reasonably fast and very comfy for long distances – but once you buy a bigger bike it is impossible , I stiil use a RVF400 occasionally but I end up wringing its neck . I did race a few years back but have had a few injuries over the past couple of years ( not all bike related ) , however I have just joined a new club and am thinking of doing the Cupar Motorcycles 400cc Production Series next year , with the RVF.

Excellent , for once I’ll be glad to be wrong !! .
I think G-BEPS is beyond salvage , she has been well cannibalised to keep G-HLFT in the air , although she has been purchased by the same company who now own G-HLFT , I think she will be reduced to produce down at Southend after all of the useable spares have been removed . I would love to see G-BEPS back in the air but I think she is beyond salvage .
Born in Lanark , lived near Motherwell when I was wee then moved to Armadale , which is halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh . Still a ‘Dale boy . Still follow Motherwell FC and am sitting here blazing that we’ve just sold our No1 player , James McFadden to Everton FC for a paltry £1.25 million .
