Roger , could you mail me the address of the group who are restoring the MG-2 , I have looked out some magazines with articles on the MG-2 . I also have a petrol tank in very good condition and MAY have a JAP 600cc side valve to suit it too – it’s just had the main bearings and big end replaced – and the cylinder it has just been rebored and has a brand new +25 thou piston and rings fitted , the magneto has just been reconditioned – it is a VERY clean engine and just needs an AmalCarb fitted to complete it. I can send the mags and the petrol tank free of charge and if I do decide to buy a new Rotovator the engine will be free of charge too , just expenses for the Fed-ex man. I would rather see it going to a good home rather than gather dust in my barn. Do you have any photo’s of her , it would be interesting to follow her restoration.
DH Fan , if you are out there HELP , you mailed me the name the book about RAF Ground Equipment – unbelievely my local Library had it sent out to them and I took it home for 2 weeks , I took it back – intending to buy a copy for myself – but I can’t get a copy anywhere – and to compound things the Library has sold it . Is there any chance of mailing me the exact title , author , publisher and ISBN number so I can track one down – many thanks.
If anybody has any photo’s of RAF ground equipment from 1940 -1950 , especially Tugs , I would be very grateful if you could mail them to me at
ageorge@haemonetics.com
ANY photo’s would be welcome however poor they are. Many thanks.

I gave this crusade a YES as well. There is a gentleman in the northern Ohio area that has a B-36 in his backyard as well as tons of other warbirds. Sadly he doesn’t allow visitors anymore as I believe his age is getting the best of him. I didn’t get a chance to visit before he stopped but I did spend many hours circling over his property looking at all the planes. I’ll have to dig up some of those pictures and scan them.
Yo WD , get looking mate , and get posting !!!!

You’ve never read “Calvin and Hobbs” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , mega funny daily cartoon – used to be in the Express , they used to transmogrify things with a hairdryer as a pretend time machine / laser / death ray / machine gun.
Transmogrification + Moggy = something Moggy tampers with to advertise . By the way Moggy whatever happened to those frontal shots of the chick in the wetsuit ?? , ppppplease post them , the rear shots were mega !!!
Looks like he’s tried to brush his hair with a firework.

Doug Arnolds “Avenger”, that one hurts! I tried everything to get it back to Holland, but nobody was interested as they all thought it was too ugly to preserve it here. Now they all regret it. Have seen it severall times in Florida, but it isn’t a 3w2 anymore, so , even it is the last surviving Dutch Avenger, it has lost its apeal to me. Anyone has a picture of it , eather at strathallen or Blackbush.Another thing, I started this thread because I was told that some of the collections aircraft were stored overseas. To be more precise, I am looking into the fact that according to some, there are containers with aircraft stored in Holland. I don’t need a confirmation, but is it possible that these airframes are in Holland ???

Not heard of this anywhere else myself but the details sound authentic to a point. The big questions would be what sort of “routine training” mission the Zubr was deployed on that saw it out alone with live ordnance for its 30mm cannon embarked? Presumably it “just” being on a training mission would mean empty tubes or just training rounds carried for the RL’s as, if the vessel was close enough to engage with the 30mm’s, it was certainly close enough to use the rockets if the situation warranted opening fire!.
As to the NK Navy, for a service with quite limited resources and very limited operational capabilities they do seem to be able to cause a LOT or irritation in their neighbourhood. They’ve had live-fire “incidents” with the SK Navy, Japanese patrol units and now the Russians over the last couple of years. I would have thought they’d be well advised to tighten their act up a bit before someone over there loses patience with them!
Jonesy , I’ve been interested in the North Korean situation for a wee while , mainly because of their “cult” style leadership , is there anywhere I can read more about this ?? , any literature I can buy etc , thanks.
