RE: Unusual way to land a 747
Can you imagine sitting in a left hand window seat on one of these aircraft?
You’d be looking out the window thinking you were landing the wrong way!
I saw another one of these, it was a Korean Air 744 and was in Flight International. It shocked me a bit and I put the article up on my wall, still there. The article ends by saying “the aircraft taxiied slowly to the gate”. I bet it did!

I copied the URL but must have forgot to paste it on the message. Anyway its:

RE: So… the ERJ-170… how does it look?
Looks quite nice actually. I’ve not heard much about this aircraft at all, only knew it had been built when I saw a picture in Airliner World.
Does anyone know who else have ordered it, if its in service yet and if we’ll be seeing it around the UK soon?
RE: Manchester Commonwealth games…Airport Traffi
Best place to look is the TAS Manchester web site nearer the time. At the moment they only have an Air New Zealand 747 listed for Aug 5th.
I would think there will be a few good aircraft in around the time and I’l certainly be up there at the weekends.
I hope it gets like BHX when Villa Park held the UEFA Cup final a few years ago. It was caos will loads of planes (Spanair, Air Europa, Alitalia, Iberia, Futura and 3 Corsair 747 ‘s). They were parking them on the second runway as they had nowhere else to put them.
RE: Top Telly (again)
Just seen the episode and I just can’t believe how people where shouting at the staff! It was ridiculous, the staff realy had a tough time and it must have been an absolute nightmare trying to clear the backlog of passengers. I just would have expected people to be a bit more understanding of the situation though!
RE: MYT955,MYT 956 GLA to FUE
The best thing for knowing all this is the airport timetables book. This is usually very good, last I heard it was due out at the end of May.
RE: A Low Low Price for a Not So Low Airline!
Surprising news. I hope easyjet keep East Midlands as a hub and I’d really love an Amsterdam flight from EMA!
The next few months will be interesting, will this have any bearing on easyjets desicion of Airbus or Boeing for future fleet, with so many more Boeings being added? Will they keep all Stansted flights, is it worth having the same flights from both Luton and Stansted?
RE: Airport picture of the day
Virgin Sun the holiday company was bought out by First Choice (Air 2000), but the deal didn’t include the aircraft.
I think they are still stored just waiting for new customers
RE: British European new livery-pic here!!!!
I wasn’t aware they were getting a new colours scheme! Not bad, a good idia to promote the web site.
Regards Birmingham, theres also a good spot a bit further along from the cargo area behind the tristar hotel, great for views and photography is possible with steps.
RE: Pic of the day – 1/05/02
You are both correct, taken at Manchester by the new runway. Its a great spot, you are very close and on a mound above any fences. It runs the entire length of the runway with a dip and a big tunnel leading to a spot near the end of the old runway.
Manchester is without doubt the best UK airport for photos!
RE: Pictures of the day….
I’ll post one of my fav pics I took at MAN the other day, if you really want pictures then a bit of self promotion won’t do any harm will it.
RE: The A340
London Heathrow to New York Newark International
Flight No : CO 4417
Aircraft 340
Yup, your flight is a Virgin codeshare, it will be a Virgin Aircraft which is very good news. See my bit above.
RE: Air Disasters : Quiz 2
3) Was a British Airtours (BA charter subsidiary I think) and was at Manchester as said above.
RE: The A340
Continental doesn’t operate any A340’s!
Maybe a codeshare, possibly Virgin. What is the route of your flight?
I’ve flown economy on a Virgin 340 and its the best flight I’ve had! Its a very quiet aircraft, entertainment includes 8 movies and video games plus more channels of sport, comedy etc and the skymap.
My favourite aircraft to fly on, its just excellent!
RE: Airline Names
Mine would be called WorldWide Airways and have an all Airbus fleet (benefit from comonality) operating around the world.
Funny you should mention this now, I bought a game called ‘Airline’ where you control your own airline and I’ve just started getting in to it. Currently have a mainly A330 fleet flying from LHR to JFK, MIA, IAD and ORD. Got 4 A340-600’s on order for LAX and SFO.
