As I understand it, Britannia have always been related to Hapag Lloyd through the Thomsom/TUI thing, but they are now going to give them all the same livery (with exeption of titles), MyTravel are also doing the same (Airtours / Premiair).

Just a small update on the Monarch thing, a new A321 is due for delivery mid-March and this may be the first to feature the new colours. If you look at the Cosmos website then this is mainly purple now, so the purple rumour may be true, with yellow featuring somwhere as well.

Can’t wait to see those colours! x(

I think your being a bit harsh on him here. If he was “practically given Sabena” then there must be a good reason why he rejected it. You can’t blame him for not taking over the airline just to save jobs, jobs that would eventually be lost in the near future if it was not profitable!
Also, a while ago, didn’t he admit to making a mistake in buying Virgin Express (Euro Belgian Airlines) saying that he should have started a new airline from scratch instead?

Add all this to the fact that Virgin Atlantic may not be doing brilliantly right now considering their main market is in the US and you can perhaps see why he rejected the offer.

You could actually say the same for any airline worldwide, so why pick on Richard Branson?

It looks bad, I’ll admit. I noticed the G-MIDF reg as well, bit strange.
There were a few ideas rolling around over at airliners.net and this guy designed two liveries similar to the bmi one at present but which were pink and blue for the baby thing and as there were to be two aircraft.
Now the pink thing sounds bad, but it actually looked quite good.

I’ll be a reguarlar at EMA now that I’ve started flying from there so I’m hoping to get a shot of the colours very early on and I’ll post here when I do.

The third one is really good (my choice) but the second one isn’t bad, certainly an improvement on the latest colours.

I agree that the TUI livery is bad, although it is supposed to look better in the flesh (hope to find out soon), but the MyTravel looks great! The picture of the A330 in it looks fantastic.

Does anyone know when the first 330 will be painted in the new colours (MyTravel)? An A320 is due to be painted at the end of Feb, or so I’ve heard.

Go do Stansted-Malaga which is twice daily (0715 and 1420).
Easyjet is twice daily from Luton and Iberia and BA (GB Airways) fly from Heathrow.

Stansted Frequencies:
Approach 120.625
Tower 123.80
Ground 121.725

I don’t think the aircraft is going to last long. It was delivered not too long ago and I think it is currently away doing work for some religious thing. I’ve also heard that they are to remove the aircraft from the fleet due to the September 11 thing (correct me if I’m wrong), so there won’t be much chance to fly on it.

To answer your question, no I haven’t flown on it myself.

Its unbelevable that somebody would do something like this.

Surely somebody saw the person go into the toilet to do this, especially those sitting near by. Lets hope they find the person responsable, he should get severely punished and be banned from flying for the rest of his life!

It just looks fantastic, I’m going to have to go some day, need a bit more cash first though!
Lanzarote has a beach by the end of the runway and when standing under aircraft it makes you want to duck, but they never have any 747’s and not quite that low!

Good question!!

I’d like to see GO operate from EMA to AMS in competition with the bmi ERJ-145 service, get their own back for bmi starting its own low cost airline just to try to get Go out of EMA.

Perhaps there isn’t the demand for more dutch flights, easyjet offer a few KLM uk operate in and out all day from most UK airports while KLM, BA and their franchises take up a lot at LHR and LGW.

Its interesting why they aren’t more flights into Rotterdam and Eidhoven, all dutch flights seem to go in to Shiphol, but I don’t think this is just true for flights from the UK, there aren’t too many scheduled flights from other countries either, are there?

Good idea. I love aerial shots of airports, showing it from a different angle. Its also good trying to guess what aircraft are on the ground at the time – looks like a Virgin 747 just pushed back and a Monarch 757 on the south terminal satellite.
