RE: Malta-off topic
The weather in Malta is usually very warm at this time of year.
Somebody I know was on a cruise around the med and left Malta a few days ago, it was the warmest day of the lot, you should have no problems with the weather.
RE: Flight schools USA
I went to Britannia in Florida in April for my PPL, but they don’t go as far as ATPL.
‘Flight International’ and ‘Pilot’ magazines have a lot of adverts for flight schools within the US, try each of their web sites and see which you feel is best.
RE: Majorca spotting
I came back at the start of July. I’ve written a guide on my web site that details the best spots around the airport, it doesn’t have any official facilities.
RE: Dan Air reunion
As you know from above, I’ll will be there on the 29th.
Thanks Saab2000 for the CAA map.
RE: Dan Air reunion
I’ll be at LGW on 29th August, probably be on the Skyview or Car Park in the morning.
Does anyone know where the CAA place is at Gatwick?
RE: Spotting At MAN
Yes I go quite reguarly.
RE: Malta-off topic
Mosta Dome is pretty good, a bomb fell through the roof during the war when it was packed with people, but it never exploded. Its on display there now.
Theres also the museum which is near Valletta thats pretty good, I was very young when I last went a few years ago so I don’t remember too much.
Mdina is good and while your there visit ‘The Arches’ restaurant in Mellieha, the best restaurant I’ve been to.
On the subject of beaches, theres one called pretty bay near Birzebbuga (head for Malta Freeport) which is very nice and its also close to the airport. You get the Air Malta’s coming in low over there all day.
RE: 4×4 ON THE BBC
I missed this, I saw all the adverts about it and meant to watch it but forgot it was on.
From the adverts it just sounded as though it was a program whose intention was to do nothing but scare people about flying. After all flying is the safest form of transport and this sort of thing doesn’t help anyone, especially those who are already a bit apprehensive towards flying.
Discovery wings has some great programs, I also like Flight Deck. The only thing is that some are now a bit outdated and are repeated constantly, they need a few new programs now and then.
If your looking for flight deck stuff then try the videos from ITVV, they are excellent.
RE: HRC?? Who are they??
I’m currently working on a searchable database on my web site which will contain all airline info like IATA, ICAO codes callsigns etc.
I’ve found sites that list some, but they list them in a certain order and it a problem (eg if they list in alphabetical order of the airline name and you want to know who uses HRC then you’ll have to scan the entire list to find the answer)
A database where you can search any field will be a lot easier to use. May take a while to set up but I’ll let you know when its done.
RE: NEED HELP – Inflight Services Guide
Are you looking for just the inflight entertainment or other things offered by the airline, such as food, drinks (if free for example).
I could let you know my experiences for airlines such as:
Virgin Atlantic
British Midland (short haul)
Britannia
Air 2000
plus some others, but they’d be going back a few years
RE: NWA 747 AT LGW
I for one would be interested to hear this.
RE: Online Website to tick off a/c?
A web site giving this service would be very rare and I’m sure you’d have to pay for it, I don’t know of any.
However I know of a computer database program called No More Underlining which works on your computer. Very good program, you can tick aircraft you’ve seen, photographed and it contains all of the info such as Previousd regs and construction numbers which you can easily search and find.
See: http://www.bravomike.demon.co.uk/ for more info
RE: Help!!! We need website helpers!!!!!
What sort of info are you looking for?
RE: JMC103K (MAN-CFU)
Would have been nice, but its a -200 according to the timetables.
RE: Where do LTE go in the UK??
They also fly to Gatwick and Manchester, from Arrecife and Tenerife
