We certainly do say “THANKS” from where I come from!
Thanks for finding this article! Most imaginitive artwork on show there!
Bet you wouldnt go out with that awsome looking bird with the plaited hair would you!
Lovely Hortenesque plane going past the Moon too!
I went to Stoneleigh yesterday, I always go in the hope of Aviation stuff, but on the whole I found it a bit thin on the ground for all concerned?
Good luck with ID!
Nothing…………………………………….
I do apologise!
Ever studied the photos of Beamont and Moneypenny? Have you noticed the specialist pressure suits that they are wearing?
I have never seen one – what became of their suits and does anyone have any better photographs of them?
Sorry everyone, my mistake – Perhaps my question concerning Flying Kit would be better asked directly to Hendon or on a Flight Gear Forum – Flying Clothing does seem to be a science in itself.
Kindest Regards
FS
Hello John,
The suits look more akin to a pressure jerkin dont they? Only the lifejacket flotation stole seems to be encased in a blast proof nylon, with the burst zip closure and in colour photos a red beaded operating handle for the Co2 bottle. Also, there does seem to be arm restraint cord.
A special suit for a special aircraft indeed! I wish more photos were available to us.
Many thanks for your useful comments.
Kindest regards
FS
Mmmm… Nice seat !
Was this taken at Coventry?
Thanks for posting anway curlyboy! Must find my old video with crew footage.
ME 163 Komet
Nice photo – yes BWT , Siebe Gorman and Wyndak did indeed make specialist Flight equipment.
Good point about Concorde kit too!
Well thanks for all the fab photos and comment, a dream indeed for TSR 2 at Cockpitfest – If all my contacts pooled their resources who knows what may be possible so dream on!
Anyway, back to my suits question. They must have been manufactured by P. Frankenstein & Son Birkenhead ? and there must be one hanging up in a closet somewhere?
We live in hope…………..
Hello everyone at Newark – Just to say a big thank you for a lovely weekend, all your efforts were much appreciated, here’s to Cockpitfest 2020!
Huge thank you to everyone at NAM who made the Aeroboot possible on Saturday. We had a great time, it’s more than just a sale, it’s a social event and a very much appreciated one in perfect surroundings. The day went by too quickly! There were more cars than ever on your car park?
As for our opinion on a pack up time, we find that 2PM is spot on, we sold quite a few bits to afternoon visitors of the Museum. One chap who didn’t know about Aeroboots taking place and was excited about return journeys to future Aeroboots and events after visiting us at around 2.45PM whilst we were doing our pack away.
Here’s to your April sale, thanks again! xx
It’s 100% Horrendous!!! A Cyberman could design better. It’s cold, flat and sluggish.
We exhibited in hangar 2 as usual, and we really liked the new layout for Aeroboot etc. It was the hotest Cockpitfest ever! Aeroboot had some excellent bits on offer, we picked up 2 Helmets, a Sarbe beacon, Russian KM16 mask RAF MK4 grey suit (Tony, sorry you boiled over, reckon your car decides to throw a wobbly for this event like it did in 2016? Hope you sort it ok)
We had 3 days of wall to wall laughs, some very interesting conversations, and as ever, so nice to catch up with all of our buddies and the staff at NAM.
We would just like to say a massive thanks to all of you at NAM for all the hard work you put in to make it possible, the Saturday evening social was very much appreciated. Colin I thought you were going to melt on Sunday afternoon! Here’s to Cockpitfest 2018!
Newark…..:highly_amused::very_drunk: you are the best! xxx
A massive thank you to everyone at Newark Air Museum! We all had a most memorable event. Found some nice things in the Aeroboot including my birthday present, a Skybolt missile model!!! Mike Davey’s Phantom project was brilliant as ever and great talking to all of his team over both days, and the Anson project is equally exceptional.
Also, big thanks to Mick for opening the Migs during our spot of Living History and making our US Navy friend very welcome. All of you did a wonderful job as usual.
Sending our get well wishes to Bill whose card we all signed. All the very best.
