OK, here’s my shot on NAM Aeroboot – A wonderful social event, sensible stall fees, covered in, first class facilities, A shame about the “no show booters” but found some interesting items, and sold some of my best bits well late in the day! So 100% HAPPY!!
Many thanks to all at Newark Air Museum – Here’s to 2016’s EVENTS
Can’t wait till March 2016.
Thanks again for another great weekend, not much point talking about the weather. It was a shame for the outdoor Aeroboot but the atmosphere throughout the weekend was fantastic along with NAM’s evening hospitality. Museum staff were marvellous as usual, and thanks to Bill for being such a sport and getting into the spirit of our 1970’s themed display with his genuine Carnaby Street platforms and T Rex shirt……. What a star!
A huge THANKS from us too! One of the best NAM has staged yet. Although windy, it was nice and sunny (Here’s wishing everyone else who is staging an Aeroboot this year lovely weather too it certainly is a positive factor fingers crossed)
Found some nice items, it was well attended, and great to see all of our buddies for a catch up. Sorry if we stayed too long! Once again, cheers NAM and all concerned. :D:D:D
NAM Aeroboots are Better than Christmas!!! To all at Newark Air Museum a big thanks from us too. Get well soon Howard we did wonder why you didn’t hand out the morning coffee.
Great photos Bunsen, thanks for sharing. It looks like an excellent event, we do need more events like this. Well done to all who participated! Good effort all round.
What a weekend!!! A result too, we won a prize! Thank you very much for everyone who voted for our display. We also managed to fit in some Living History with members of our group attired in vintage flight gear for photoraphers with the museums Sea Vixen and Buccaneer. Also, the Shackleton Society for being so patient and allowing us access so late in the day.
Very pleased with our Aeroboot finds, the Baked potatoes were a great idea for the evening too, NAM, you staged 2014 Cockpifest marvellously! Thanks to all of you once again, and heres to next year.
You cannot convey the atmosphere of this truly unique event with the written word, you have to be there in person to appreciate it, here’s to 2015.
And a BIG THANKS to everyone at NAM from us too! Great day out, found some nice bits, cant wait to see you all again! A dry day was most welcome wasn’t it? Cheers.
COCKPITFEST 2014….. It’s less than 6 months away, ……. C’mon what’s on the agenda for Newark’s show? Indoors or Outdoors, Aeroboot Field or whatever you are bringing to this niche show….
Calling all you “COCKPITFESTERS!”…. Let’s get this unique summertime show rolling with ????………………..
I attend Beaulieu Autojumble, and, in my opinion, some of the older, very knowledgeable people do not have the internet, but they do read monthly magazines, so stick a small ad in a popular Aviation publication?
Get well soon Jim!
Kind regards
Knifeedgeturn, It was not just magazines and vases, to the left of the display was a dressed mannequin, in a genuine 1950s RFD MK 3 RAF Liferaft, hence the 1959 theme, it was also a tribute to English Electric Lightning test pilot Johnny Squier, who made an amazing ejection and rescue off St Bees Head Cumberland on 1st October 1959.
” but far more effort and thought went into the display in the hopefully attached photos”.
You are having a laugh, aren’t you?
Hello there “KNIFEY”, and what exactly did “YOU” decide to display to contribute to this years Cockpitfest?
WOW! What a fabulous weekend! We had so much fun. The enthusiasm and atmosphere amongst the Exhibitors was wonderful. We have looked forward to this unique and most special event all year. Now looking forward to Cockpitfest 2014.
